Werd, but what I meant though was quit worrying about LS6 intakes and nonsense and go for a stroker/L92/L76 setup.

It almost seems like a waste to buy a really good set of heads/cam/intake for a 346 engine now. With the L93/Ls3 motors making so much power for so cheap you might as well just replace the engine and sell the 346 outright to someone else.

I thought it was normal for cars to vary +/-8rwhp from the factory!!! It sounds like you guys are expecting these cars to make the same numbers dead on.

Your numbers are definatly realistic i don't see why people would doubt it, one of my old h/c f-bodies made 476 rwhp with a ls6 intake and through the fbody y pipe. Dyno's all read within ~10 hp of each other, it isn't the dyno that is off it is the things that you hear of people doing to make the dyno read higher. For example an employee at one shop (not mentioning any names) explained how they got a high number out of a C6 Z06 that the shop modified by putting ultra light weight wheels/tires, no belts for the run, race gas with a very aggresive tune, and a portable A/C unit blowing onto the intake, not cats etc. where it made well over 600 rwhp. Yet when they returned the car to a real world condition the car only made 560 to the ground. Which is still a very respectable number but more in line with what everyone else in the real world makes.

Just wondering why a shop like MTI is still using such an old version of Winpep? V 4.95?

That's ridiculous. That's about 80 rwhp over most stock LS1s.

I dunno.. a H/C/I LS1 is still going to rape this motor. A H/C/I + spray LS1 is going to make the LS3 vettes look like they are tied to a tree.. and I'm betting that in the end you spent less than a new LS3 would cost.

I don't know about that, the cam only LS3's are making 440+ rwhp and 410+ rwtq. A new LS3 shortblock from Scoggin-Dickey is $1,300, L92 heads are $350 bare, and the L76 intake runs about $350 also.

A shortblock is NOT $1300. The bare block may be, but the shortblock is not.
