But when one looks at the evolution of the LS based motor since its inception as the LS1 in 1997; the over-all power increase is what could be expected
+30 cubic inces (.5 liters) and 11 years of modern, technological advancement (LS3 is technically an '08 motor) should yield a ~90 horsepower gain to the wheels.
Ferrari made similar power gains with a similar displacement increase in a comparable time-development to there V8 motor (3.6 to a 4.3l in ~7years with an ~85hp increase).
GM should be proud that their Engineering is on par with some of the best, and MOST EXPENSIVE, auto-companies in the world
