I am not impressed with the Patriot Heads, I have only seen a few combo put up decent RWHP numbers. AFR headed cars are hit & miss & TFS head cars seem to always put up impressive numbers

Comparing AFR's and TFS's with budget ported stock castings is apples and oranges. Of course a well designed and ported aftermarket casting is going to make a lot more power on average, they flow SO much more at mid lift.. a good 25-30 cfm more at .400-.500 in most cases!.

AFR is the way to go, or TFS if you prefer. See sig for numbers

Yeah, running on 7 cylinders would do that. That's why I said it was probably something simple.

To optimize hp from heads/cam, you should buy your heads first, and have a custom cam designed to those heads. Period.

You just bought a couple of off the shelf parts that were not made to work optimially with one another. You are therefore leaving hp on the table.

Obviously it wasn't the heads. I dynoed 357rwhp and roughly 340rwtq cam only, added a ported throttle body and some Patriot Stage 2 5.3's, got it tuned, and put down 415rwhp, 408rwtq. Did I mention I'm auto? I'm happy with the Patriots, especially for the money I paid. I'm sure when the OP goes back to the dyno he'll put out 430+ pretty easily. Enjoy it man! I know I will. =D

Midtown what intake are you running? You didn't say LS6 intake or anything (if you did I missed it) just wondering if you still on the LS1.

That is what happens when you mismatch parts.

The X1 requires a certain type of heads and very high flowing exhaust to work well.
