Why did he put a LS7 cam in a truck engine with a truck intake, that seems way wrong. Plus the cam sensor issue may be causing the engine to pull itself down to protect against damage. Why would someone dyno a vehicle with known issue?

Def an odd combination. The driveline in that thing will suck up a bunch too.

The L92 is a variable valve timing engine. It has a special designed cam to work with the varying cam centerline changes. The LS7 cam is not designed with that in mind. That is most likely why the cam sensor code is popping up. Just a poor choice of parts and lack of research!!

Actually for 2007 there is a 1st and 2nd design engine. 1st does not have active fuel management (AFM) and the 2nd design does. I guess it depends on what he has. I should be pretty easy to tell, the timing gear/chain setup is unique

we are not running the varible timing setup.ls7 cam will not even work with varible timing setup.it has the ls2 timing chain setup and is using 2002 harness and ecu.varible timing has no role in this problem.

Sounds like 2 issue's.One being the Cam signal and two is the dyno operator probly ran the truck in 2nd gear which will show lower #'s.

We run most trucks in second gear because the tires are rated for like 90mph and the driveshafts are rated at 120mph.I've had a few driveshafts litterally snap in 1/2 on trucks which breaks the transfer case and sometimes the tranny. A truck that revs to 6600rpm or so will hit 160-180mph in 3rd.
