Default Predator tuning, the real results

Well I am not gonna say his name, I do not know if he is even a member on her, if he sees it and want to chime in then great, if not oh well lol.

This weekend me and two friends went to a dyno day and one of them had a (not sure of year but it was a camaro) ss with mac headers, no cats and I am pretty sure it had a ls6 intake. Not gonna give out numbers, but how about when he took the predator tune off, he picked up 5whp and 7lb of tq! The tune he had was making him run insanely rich and he was also getting 4 degrees of knock, so I am sure that the gains would have been even more. But I am not saying that all cars have this effect by any means, just reporting what I saw.

Gotta tune the predator in and then dyno the car..

Just curious as to why you wouldn't disclose the numbers? It's not like that's a uncommon setup.

Just because he wasn't happy with them, but me and a friend kept on tellin him that they are just numbers and he needs to remember that it is an auto.

my 2002 Z28 camaro 6-spd also lost power using the predator. it made 332 stock and 324 after predator. i put it back stock and got over 330 again. i did not buy the programmer after that. it was a free trial thank goodness.

These are good programmers if you know how to use them ! I mean there is some things you need to look at and change . Not just plug it in and go. You ltft need to be checked 0 to -2,0 and your mv on the o2 at wot should be around 890 to 915 mv . So work with it alittle bit if you are getting knock retard just back it out some .

That's just the point. It is supposed to be a plug and play hand held tunning device plane and very simple. I can't tell you just how much power I lost not to mention driveability, because I didn't dyno that car at the time. But it took J Formato quite a while to tune my car and get it right after I introduced the Predator to my ECM. Now I know they can be useful to set the fan temps which a non- experienced person can easily do. But for 400.00 bucks + shipping you can do alot better like spending a little more and getting HP tuners or just going to a great tuner like I did. Don't want to start a war over this. I know some folks are very sensitive about their purchase of this device and get very bent out of shape easily. Just stating my experience with it.

When my car was mostly stock I had the same problem with HPP3. I loss about 3-5hp with it. Here is my Dyno the first dyno was with HPP3, the second was without HPP3 (no colldown), the last was without the HPP3 after a 5min cooldown.

Mods at the time where MTI lid with K&N, Descreened Maf and 160 stat.

My old LT1 bolton car gained 6RW/8RW from the HT back in 97..Every car is different and u cant put a tune in w/o tweeking it,back then the HT wouldnt let u do shiat...The DS will and if u take your time with it u will see improvements from it...

They cost nearly as much as a full tuning suite... tuning with a predator is like trying to operate with a chainsaw... solder with a flame thrower... etc. it lacks the cell resolution it needs to be effective.

if you are trying to argue cost, and that you just need this or that changed, a mail order tune is only 125-150 bucks and can do you much better.

Or You Can Just Get Your Car Tuned By Someone Who Does Predetor Tunes And Then You Get The Hand Held Plus A Custom Tune And Still The Ability To Change Minor Stuff. Fc Customs
