got a motor from another guy put it in my car and got it dyno tuned

its a 5.7 completely stock as far as i know as for the bottom end...
i looked at the heads and they have no portwork 853 castings
ls6 intake
flowtech longtubes/dual 3 inch ory /single dynamax bullet muffler
u/d pullie
no a/c

yank ss3600 stall 3.42 10 bolt rear end
added more timing and it didnt gain any power, it peaks around 6400 which looks right i cant see where it made peak tq that much have been really low... im not sure what cam it is though, if i can get the same kinda curve and 25 more hp ill go ahead and stick in a ms3

car made these for numbers, i was expecting 380+ with a ms3 and dynotune

So is that with an MS3 or not? Either way, 853 heads suck, my blue TA only made 342/348 cam only with 853 heads, TR224, and LT's. After some p/p'd 241's, pulley, and intake, it made 400/380. It needs better heads.

That looks very low for an ms3.

im not sure what cam it is...going by the curve it appears to be a ms3 the numbers just seem low af was good and timing im thinking was 27 during that pull any more it wouldent make any more power so we went safe and stayed there...

Huh, even through an auto those would be the lowest MS3 numbers I've ever seen when something wasn't wrong with the tune or setup.

something is wrong. 853 and 241 heads flow and perform the same. could be a plethora of problems, i'd start with the tuner. also, was this on a mustang dyno? did you run a compression check? leakdown test? most ms3 cams i've seen peak a little higher and then fall RAPIDLY before 7,000 rpm. an unlocked stall ms3 car should pull ~375-385 whp on a dynojet with your setup.

853 DO NOT flow anything close to the 241's?

never done a leakdown or compression check...tuner was a good local tuner...im not sure if it was a mustang dyno or not...that ill have to check on

No, its a dynojet. The only dif between the heads is how they are cast. I could understand a 5 CFM difference in the flow numbers but not much more. Who at HPP tuned it? James? If so the tune is good to go. If not then i dunno.

yes james tuned it i know he does great tunes but i guess this isnt a ms3...this was right after he left and manny was trying to do tunes then he was doing part time tunes again....i asked to him him specifically and watched him do it....ive never had it apart...he didnt say nothing he jsut told me he couldent squeeze any more power from it....

Yeah i'm with you on this one. On my 98 with a tr224(A4) with ls6 The most I put down was 348rwhp. I then switch to tsp 5.3 heads and ported 90/90 and whent to 424rwhp(417rwhp corrected)

this motor had a gm hotcam in it...stock gm z06 springs
made 365 through the auto unlocked....
