I was on a mustang dyno about a year ago and made 295 w/ everything but the heads and cam. A4 by the way. Well today i went to another dyno(dynotech dyno i think) and made 305 hp to the wheels. i hear of stock ls1's putting down 300. What kind of dyno is that? My afr was 12.8 most of the run...Whats the deal do i have a lemon?

Are those stock 243s...cause that is a stock Z06 head...so basically you turned your motor into a cammed Z06 motor if they are...still a little week for an A4 though. It is hard to tell without a graph. What are your cam specs...220 is very mild, and a complete list of mods what headers and head specs (SCR) and such.
Looks like a good list from your sig...just elaborate on them a little. You should be at least 370 or more I would think. Is that a dynojet type dyno? The mustang dyno seems accurate...they are lower than dynojet but those numbers with those mods (pre H/C) sound about right on a mustang dyno. What was your last 1/4 time...60' and 1/8th and trap.

yeah stock 243s long headers, good y-pipe and a cutout. cam is a 220 duration and 551 lift. Not sure of the track time b/c the local track is short but i think about a 7.40 1/8, with 1.7 60'.

I went to a dyno jet with an old set up of mine and got 423hp 407tq. I went to a mustang dyno and got 370hp 350tq. I wanted to cry like a bi*ch. The jet gave me higher #'s. I feel it could of been because The place who tuned it is where I got all my mods from. They wanted me to say wow and be happy. My car only ran 12.1 then and after modding I got 463hp 414tq from the same dyno who gave me 370hp. I then had a 10sec car. Dont worry about it,go by your track times to see where your at,then make changes from there do. At the track look at your 60 foot times and start modding there first. Most want more power, but what good is it if you can hook what you have now. If you only race from a roll, then power away. goodluck to ya bro. by the way....your cam is a WIMP.

I put down 289.9/ 315 on a dynojet with only a lid with my 1998 A4 Camaro.
With an ls6 intake i put down 298.5/316.2 and ran 9.111 at 82.82mph on an 1/8 mile track with a 2.181 60ft time.
Yours seems to be a little low. Do you have actual track numbers you can share?

Mustang Dyno and Dynodynamics average about 12-15% lower HP readouts compared to Dynojet and Dynapak. Trap Speed and Weight is the tell all on actual Power though. Not sure if you can find out Power from 1/8th mile speeds though. I usually go by 1/4 Trap Speeds.

Horsepower Calculator. This calculator seems to work pretty nicely. My SR20 240 used to dyno 353whp and trapped 117mph in the 1/4. Pretty spot on when using a weight of 2800lbs which is me, full tank of gas, and some random junk in the car.
