Is 360rwhp doable with cam only on stock manifolds?
EDIT: WITH STOCK HEADS
Well guys i have been looking into getting a cam but leaving my stock manifolds and just running a cutout. I have a 1999 m6 with 94K on the clock. My reason behind this is to stay like a sleeper and emissions friendly in California and it would only cost a little more then headers and duals as long as i do the work myself. What do you all think? I would also use a crane cams tuner so i could have fun with it now and then tune the somewhat mild cam with it when i get it down the road. Thanks

360 is atainable. cam only with a few of the other bolt ons but you will leave alot on the table.
750- there is defiently something up with your car if you only got 285 with a cam and 6.0l heads

What is the most i can gain from a cam on stock manifolds? with my factory ls1 intake and exhaust manifolds.
I was thinking with a cam that is spec ed for my car and a handheld tuner i would be able to gain 35 horsepower.

"99-TR-CHEATR-CAM Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"CheaTR" - 214/230 .601/.575 117 LSA. Off Idle-6800 RPM Power Band. Broad power range. Works well with stock exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters. Stock like idle. Minor tuning required on automatic transmission cars. Responds very well to nitrous. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. Double valve springs and titanium retainers required for this cam."
This cam, an ls6 intake, free flowing cat back exhaust and I think you will see your goal!!!!

The stealth 2 isn't really that much bigger. The gains would be minimal at best but chose what works for you. Good Luck..

I just put a XER 228/230 .588/.595 114 with an ASP UD in my friends 04 GTO with stock manifolds and a TB that I ported. We went from 298/315rw on a Dyno Jet to 364/342rw on a AWD Mustang dyno. I have tuned four other cars on the same dyno so the numbers are legit. All of these car gained 6% on the Dyno Jet that we use. I am putting headers on the GTO before I take it to the Dyno Jet so I don't have accurate dyno jet numbers. But with the added 6% you get 385/363rw. I thought that was a spectacular gain from just a cam, UD, ported TB.

I don't know what his numbers are, but I have a buddy who has a Cheater cam with a completely STOCK exhaust from the manifolds to the tips and he trapped 114 with it, so I'd say he's easily making more than 360. Make sure to install an UD pulley, LS6 intake, lid/bellow, ported TB, etc, etc, and you shouldn't have any problems.

The CheaTR cam was designed specifically to work in harmony with stock exhaust manifolds. The valve events are ideal for your mods and goals. Reverse split cams like the Stealth II work best with excellent exhaust and long tube headers. Not ideal for your application. The CheaTR is.
