our C6Z cam only cars that make between 530 and 560 rwhp typically make between 430 and 445 rwtq at 3k. This grind isnt too far off some of our other setup, one here recently laid down 583/541, with almost 450 at 3k, and 420 at 2k. Give it time, he will wear this setup out and and change it up to keep it fun His poor car was sitting at Nicks when I was there almost 9 months ago, he needs to drive it

Damn Bandit, you change your cam more than I change my socks

It will make the world of difference in a N/A car though if you got the time and money to test different cams to get the 'perfect' one.

while it could be, i kinda doubt that be the case with more than one setup. i have the cam in my 408 w/7.4's and a few others(same cam) have pm'd me about how it sputters and pops as well.

03 BUSA, did you ever get cam specs back from cam motion?

Yes it wasn't degreed 4 advance only 1 but that was not the cause of the problem. I had TSP swap me for a different cam that Cam Motion recommended and that is very lazy down low so that one is coming out tomorrow and I will be putting the G5X3 back in it with a GX vacuum pump. The torque down low for the street was more fun to drive than the other cams with higher peak hp.

The G5X3 put in at 112ICL (instead of the stock 108ICL) would be the winner IMO.

The valve events of this past cam from Cam Motion on the 113 + 4 almost mimicked the G5x3 on a 112 +0 and the car is very lazy down low. Nick agreed when he drove it. We never put it on the dyno due to that reason. I was going to put the G5x3 in straight up like the first time with the ivc at 45 instead of the 47 and 49 in the other cams. Do you feel the G5x3 valve events are different enough to retard it 4 degrees? If you feel I will gain then I can do that and be done with it. I just hate to do it again. I have the cam swap down to 1 hr 45 minutes to get the old cam out and ready to go back together. Thanks again for all the help.

It's a bitch on a C5. I've got some specs I'd like to try but if I don't like them it's back in with the one I'm running now. Too much work. If I do, a two piece timing cover is definitely going in.

Went back to the G5X3 and I don't care what the dyno says this thing is awesome with this baby cam in it. I left it 112 + 4 just because I am done messing with it. I will be installing a GZ vacuum pump and yella terra rockers and therefore should pick up a little up top. The torque down low just gets the car moving so much faster than those peaky cams did. I will let you know what the vacuum pump adds to the final numbers. And if by some chance with all the cam swaps I wind up hurting a cam bearing I will pull this thing apart and install some -18 cc pistons and throw an F1 at her and then I will be done. But as long as she holds up I will be just fine with this for now. Thanks for all the input guys.
