Default 408 results (with dyno sheet)

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../dynosheet.jpg

Well I am not sure what to think yet, So give me your opinions. 431/369 corrected on a mustang dyno. Heres the set up:

408 ( built for major spray) 12:1
Dart heads (Some bowl work and clean up)
250's 260's cam
BBK Intake ( Killing me )
Stock TB
Kooks 1 7/8 race headers
Single 3" exhaust w/ three chamber muffler
Full belts w/ all stock pulleys and power steering
TH350 RMVB 4200 stall
9"
All on 91 OCTANE

I know I need to change the intake and definatly get some cut outs.

Also a/f was 11.8-12.2 with only 22* of timing

So please let me know what you think and if I should be disapointed or not.

I will try to post the graph in the morning

Thanks for reading

I think you have more in it with an air fuel of 13.0(around that) and timing 25+ degrees. Cutouts will help alot but being on a mustang dyno, it should hall ***. congrats.

Big stall+9 inch=disappointing numbers. Dont worry about what the dyno says, it'll never make what you think it will. Tune it and go run it.
PS the throttle body and intake are killin ya.

Good luck, very nice set-up. I love my 408! Auto`s do kill our numbers! But they are sure easy to spray!!

At least a Fast 90/90 intake and T/B, open up that exhaust(some kind of dual set up) and 93 octane fuel. Seems like a good start to me. $.02

I think your huge cam is killing your torque down low. (as said) Your intake/TB is killing power where did you peak 6000rpm? Your timing and AFR are on the rich/low side. Is it going to be on the nitrous tune all the time? The TH350 with that 4200 stall is eating some power too. All has been said before. I would be interested to see this motor with a real tune on it not a nitrous tune and an opened up intake and exhaust. I think there is more in it, Good luck!!!

Thanks guys I'm planning on ordering the new intake setup and some cut-outs this week. After I get everyhting back together I'll be taking it back to the dyno (finaly have one in my area)
Plus the motor only has about 200 miles on it.

It was peaking at 6300

The timing was set at 15 degrees when we started just to make sure it was going to detonate all over the place, bumping the timing up 7 degrees jumped the dyno up by 40/20

Also I am tuning this car myself and it is my fist tuning job so I'm sure that there is room for improvment there.

Thanks for all the positive responses!

Did not know you were tuning yourself. I would keep turning up the timing until you peak out your HP and TQ, you might be able to get 25-28 degrees of timing out of it. The AFR can be leaned out to 12.8 - `13.2 : 1 and that will bump up your power. I would try to keep about 3 degrees away from knock retard. If this is your first time, good luck I have been reading about tuning and so far that is what I have learned. Have you read "Engine Management Advanced Tuning." It has been very helpful for me.

You don't have to care about the numbers, but dynos are great for tuning. I don't have any place around me that lets me get my auto to redline in 3rd gear which is probably around 140.

OP...keep up the good work and finish your tune.

If you're looking for BIG dyno numbers, a stalled TH350, 9" and mustang dyno is just a recipe for heartbreak. I would wager you're 70+hp/tq off of dynojet numbers, with a conservative stalled 4L60 and a decent intake. I still see comparable track numbers (or better) with someone who dynoed 500hp on a dynojet without the TH350.

There's more power there, good luck!
