Can a 5.3L dyno as high as LS1?
He saw my dyno tune results on my camaro that showed 328/364 and called b/s on the numbers. he obviously has no clue what hes talking about because he said that those numbers were way too high for my mods and engine.
Now he claims (and showed dyno sheet from the same place that tuned my car) that his truck stock put 300/316 to the wheels. his challenge was that with the same mods, he would dyno higher than me. He wanted to put $500 on it.
What do you guys think? On the silverado boards they all called b/s on his numbers, saying that they with the same truck/motor were putting anywhere from 240-270 to the wheels.
Would that have been an easy $500 for me?
The way i see it, IF he got 300 rwhp bone stock, then with the same mods he would come close to my numbers. Even if i won (and the money isnt a big deal), he would still talk ish to me saying that my big and mighty LS1 BARELY beat him. either way, I dont accomplish what i wanted.
besides, when/if he ever gets it tuned, he and everyone else will know what hes putting to the rear wheels, and that will be enough.

yea this guy wont race me. he knows that he weighs 2k lbs over me, so even if his motor was slightly more powerful Id still blow him away. I have a weight advantage, aero advantage, and traction advantage (i have ET streets).
Both of us dynoed at the same place, using a dynapack dyno that is properly and accurately tuned. They always say flywheel hp, even if it isnt. I found that this is because it CAN calculate flywheel hp, and I now wonder if that what this guy posted. From what ive heard, the TCF number indicated whether its RW or flywheel, and a "1" indicated drive wheel.
here is his thread on the truck forum:

notice how he cut off all other info on the sheet...heres mine from the same place:
my point exactly. this is why i didnt bother with it, especially when we already knew he would loose in a race against me.
Also times is a reflection of traction, it's trap speed that says what kind of power you make. If you take 2 cars and 1 spins like mad and does a 13.5 @ 109 and another that does 13.5 @ 100mph, which has more power?
