Default Record All Motor LS1 Dyno Numbers

Well not really actually the complete opposite. I think I just set the record for lowest dyno numbers with a LS1 235 or so on the first pull and 22X on the second. I just had my car tuned at MTI after the cam and heads went on and it made 420hp. I just installed a set of Kooks and a custom ORY. Ever since the headers and ory went on the car has been running like poop. It turns on just fine, idles fine, but as soon as I start to drive it there is a definitely a lack of power. No codes are being thrown, no weird engine noise or knocks.

One of the wires looked a little burnt and it was replaced on the dyno but it didn't solve anything. I replaced the spark plugs twice since the headers went on which was like two weeks ago.

Two things that did happen which I don't know if it led to this crap. After the headers were installed I drove the car about 10 miles open headers to the shop that was gonna build the ORY. The car was jerking and surging alot but I figured it was because of the lack of exhaust. Other than that I tried turning the car on after the install and I had forgot to plug in one of the coil pack harnesses. I drove it about 50 yards like that before I pulled over and saw the harness unplugged. Could either of these two things f@cked something up?

I don't know what else to look for other than pulling the valvecovers to see if I broke a spring on the way up to the shop. They are comp 921's and they don't have more than 1k miles on them along with the heads and new cam.

Any advise is greatly appreciated

i would take it back to jason and see what he says and maybe he might be able to pull sumthin up that is tune related but before i try that i would go look over all of the connections and double check that everything is plugged in 02 sensors and wires plugs coils yada yada ect..... and then i would unplug the battery and let it sit for like 20 min to see if it reset everything

I've done everything but the battery recently but while it was in the shop getting the ORY built the battery was disconnected. I just pulled the valvecovers off and can't see any broken springs, rockers look fine and even installed a different set of coilpacks. Still no workie.

Thanks I appreciate it. Kinda fed up with the car right now so I'm gonna take a couple days break from it then try to figure it out.

have it re dynoed and see what kinda power it is putting down on the low sie of the graph and see what ur afr is also when i added long tubes it felt like i lost a bit of low end but it wasnt alot though

the coil pack harness unplugged shouldnt matter.most of us at 1 time or another have forgotten to plug in a coil or something.

That's what I was thinking. I'm not sure what else to look for now. No funny noises from the engine, no broken springs, no DTC codes. It was working just fine until the headers went on.

I'm betting you either have a bad exhaust leak around the collector or you fried your O2's. I'm not recommending this, but if you have tried going WOT and it ran fine, that just reinforces the O2 thing.

I'm gonna replace the passenger side o2 and see what that does. It did throw a code for it once but the guy tuning didn't seem to believe it would cause a 200hp loss. Just make sure though I will replace it.

yeah i'd say O2 sensors, i had them crap out on me, no CEL/SES light car just running like crap until i changed em out. after that ran great.

Make sure you don't have the front O2 sensors plugged into the rear O2 harness. I've seen this happen on a C6. The Vette made terrible power. Owner plugged into the harness that was closer. To reach the front sensor wires, you typically need O2 entensions. It's probably not this, but I thought I would mention it anyway.

I just rechecked that. I changed plugs again, replaced the TPS sensor, different coil packs, drained the quarter tank of gas I had in case it was bad and replaced with a new fuel filter and car is still running like crap when I try to go WOT.

I don't know what else to look at anymore. Even at WOT the fuel pressure stays around 53 so I don't think its fuel related. I pulled the valvecovers no broken springs or rockers. No engine noises. This has to be something tune related or electrical. I just don't know what could have happened for it to go from running perfect to installing a set of headers and it now running like ****.

but wouldnt that show up as a dead sensor beings his rears are likely deleted?

did you check all the main fuses? Maybe on of the bank one or bank two fuses is poped

id still think if it was anything electrical it would be throwing a code. or at the very least be showing up on the logging software if u used any when u dynoed it.

You need someone to check the sensors with a scanner.If you were close I could probly diagnos it in under 10 minutes.
