So you gained 9hp and 5lb feet @ the weels just from a p&p tb... Sounds like a nice gain to me Especially since I did mine myself which cost me all of $30 bucks.... So how much were you expecting???

He meant the first two pulls with stock tb were identical and the second two pulls after swapping in the p&p tb were identical proving a gain...

I see. I just need to read slower. Either way, I would be happy with it.

especialy considering the hype about the bumpstop mod, the half shaft mod and the coolant delete. all those including port work = 9 hp and 5 trq. so i dare to seperate them out and credit the mods with there givin gains! see my point?

A throttle body isn't a dyno mod. But 9rwhp is nothing to shake a stick at. You will see gains on the dyno like you did but you'll see more gains at the track when air is moving.

I bet on .15 in et reduction atleast.

I never saw a 20 hp claim on a ported stock TB. I've seen someone gain as much as 14 though.

Where the hell did you read 15-20 HP out of a P&P'd T/B??? My tuner was honest with me when he did mine - right at or just under 10 RWHP and that's exactly what it got me.

No ****. I'm with this guy^^^ You didn't get that information here! If you thought spending money on a p&p tb then don't even think about getting a UD pulley!

You still running the LS1 intake? The LS1 may prove to be the restriction to any improvements before the intake.

BTW if you get 9 @ the weels it probably is somewhere between 15 - 20 hp gain @ the crank... Is one way to look @ it

the more you have in mods,,the more the gain...

7 to 10 on a stocker to slight stocker (some mods)
11 to 16-ish on a full bolt on car
15 to 19 on a heads cam car

So,,as you keep modding,,, your TB will keep on givin

be happy with your 9,,hope you didnt pay toooo much for your TB, depending on who's or what you bought,, which makes a 9 well worth it...think of this way,,a UD pulley gives you roughly 10,,for $250.00,,,,an electric water pump will give you roughly 10,,,for $400.00...

you came out on top

wow! very good points!!! i mean i know alot about cars, as a matter of fact before we changed it i said i figured 10 and my buddie who owns the dyno said maybe 8 so we were close, i just was a little curious as to why people made such a BIG deal about ported throttle bodies, but you know somthing.......about that ls1 intake LOL! didnt think of that, well its a good thing my ls6 intake will be in, in a few days, ill do two pulls, change it on spot and redyno with 2 more pulls. then we can add the gains and see how the ported t/b and ls6 intake combo fairs. i know its been done, but not on my car.
