Hey, guy you were keeping this from checking in here.

Congrats on the numbers. My numbers are actually 400/367, 405 was before the tune and drivetrain stuff. Were those SAE numbers Alfred gave you? The weight thing is going to make a big difference between us, but I'd still like to get together and run em sometime soon when you get your clutch issue sorted out. I'm always ready to go, and I'm pretty sure I can hold my own in this grudge match. With those numbers, you should be able to hold pretty well against me even with the weight difference, but my gearing is going to make a big difference from a dig, as well.

And fuel system is one of the next things I was looking into on my car. I want to have someone take a look at the duty cycle. I've been saying from the beginning that it may very well be one of the reasons my car just isn't putting out the power it's supposed to. I think it could be your problem, as well, but I would absolutely swap in an 85mm MAF next. I've done a lot of reading on the subject and I really think you're holding yourself back with that stock MAF.

Thanks guys.

I think I will get the MAF, and upgrade the fuel, but its sad when stock stuff can bearly keep up with a mild cam.

Yeah, well keep in mind that it may not be the issue. Every car isn't a freak like Ron's, and my car is the perfect example of that. That's the problem with us is that now everything we do gets compared to Ron's car and they all pale in comparison.

Yeah, he's got stock heads and he's also running through a 3" Steel driveshaft and a 12-bolt with 4.10s, so it's definitely not a dyno queen. It's fairly mild cam, as well, so I wouldn't have expected much higher numbers. A cam only putting down almost 400 to the wheels with stock heads and a very heavy drivetrain is impressive.

LOL, yeah it's crazy that it's getting to the point where people are disappointed when their cam-only setup doesn't make 400.

Now track numbers or bust

A quick run down of the mods.

Vengence Racing VRx4 Cam 228/230 .588/.592 112
Ported 90/90 by Vengence, Sanded and Painted
SLP Flow Pack (no smooth bellow)
SLP U/D pulley
Dynatech SuperMaxx Headers w/ emission w/ CATS
Corsa Cat back
Textralia oz-700 Z-grip
Moser 12 Bolt w/ 4.10's
3" Steel DS
Stock Heads, Waterpump, Rockers, Injectors, and Fuel Pump, Dyno Tuned.

A quick Run down on past dyno's

Stock w/ Lid, m6, 10 bolt:

324 RWHP @ 5,300 rpms

346.7 RWTQ @ 4,450 rpms

Lid, 12 bolt, DS, Headers, Cat back, bolt on dyno tune:

UN-Corrected:

1st pull: 336.6 RWHP @ 5,500 rpms;
5th pull: 350.6 RWHP @ 5,500 rpms;

1st pull: 355.0 RWTQ @ 4,500 rpms;
5th pull: 361.8 RWTQ @ 4,500 rpms;

Corrected:

1st pull: 326.8 RWHP @ 5,500 rpms;
5th pull: 339.9 RWHP @ 5,500 rpms;

1st pull: 344.7 RWTQ @ 4,500 rpms;
5th pull: 350.8 RWTQ @ 4,500 rpms;

Cam/Intake/UD pulley Swap:

396 RWHP @ 6,200
375 RWTQ @ 4,500

TQ was over 350 @ 3,500

This was with a retune which didnt do much over the bolt on tune, minor clean up. Dirty air filter and fuel filter and heavier drive line

Had it been a stocker drive line, it wouldnt be un reasonable that it would 412-415 rwhp on a MILD cam that drives like stock, and has a nice, exotic sound w/ the cat back.

Since I've gotten over Cancer, now I will get a chance to make it to the track. The thing weighs with me just short of 3900lbs. I dont expect 11's but 12.20's isnt out of the question.

As for the ported 90, I am sure it helped a little but when paired with ported heads it should do 430-440 rwhp, maybe 5.3L 225cc or Ported LS6, I havent decided.

Oh and with the kid who I was keeping this from, he made 405 RWHP with a similar (maybe a lil smaller cam and ported Patriot LS6 heads), At the peak he edged me but below 5.5k I owned him in the power dept.
Good to see these guys had to fix my car from a very bad so call tuner in tn web site is wwwspeedengineeringanddyno.com. his name jeff nance told me a tune was 400.00 then 150.00 per hr for the dyno car never got on the dyno. was to have my car for 1 week. keep it for 32 day. Then went to get it told him had to get it back Then told me if I wanted to get it back was 1380.00 Never called me to tell me nothing on the increase of the price. Car was running great just had a cold start issue on cold starts only. After 32 days with him car got only 7 miles per gallon in town and 11 on highway. MIKE AT VENGEANCE RACING WAS GREAT HAS MY CAR FIXED IN LESS THAN 4 HRS...

Just in case it was missed, Vengenge didn't tune BSM's car. He just bought the cam and intake from them.

Thats correct.

They just supplied the cam, push rods, intake (w/ porting), and 90mm TB.
