02 LS6 WS6 dyno tune at Speed inc today

well a crate ls6 is 4 to 5 k. Now if you get ahold of one at a good price then why not get it? its proven power, the reason some vettes dyno low is because of the IRS the vette has.

Yeah, I got the LS6 longblock from a crate engine place for $3,400 because I didn't need the intake or anything because I was going to swap all of the bolt-ons over from the old motor. So I would say I got a pretty good deal on the thing!!!

The car hasn't been to the track yet and to be honest it probably will not do all that great the way it sits. Street tires, 6spd, and our elevation/DA sucks, all of the time. It will run a LOT better than it did last time it was there.. but it's not a track car.. just a DD.
Sounds like some others have strong LS6 cars also.. which isn't a surprise.
To the people doubting it, ask speed inc and I bet they'll lie to you about it . He paid them to make a fake graph and report fake numbers. You busted him.
Also note that the car was dyno'd on a hot day literally while it was raining and the final run was right after.
I agree that dyno numbers don't mean a lot, track times mean more but they're still not everything to him/us. We just like quick street cars.

Best kept secret in the genIII world. The combo is amazing. Sounds like a bolt on car, gets gas mileage of a stock car, and runs like a heads/cam car. You sacrafice nothing as far as power goes. I could see milling of the heads and/or a gt2-3 lingenfelter camshaft would do it even more justice, but I'll leave that to someone else.
I'll be sure to report back in this thread my next dyno tune sessions (I'm fortunate enough to have Jeremy Formato tuning it), I'm gonna have him tune it in with an ls6 maf along with the added fast 78 and exhaust cutout and see what kind of power it can really make.
I actually use to have a heads/cam 98 z28 before i stepped into this 02 SS w/ ls6, no comparison as far as driveability and smooth low end torque.

The blocks were pretty much the same. And yes, the only main differences between a crate LS1 and a crate LS6 are the heads and cam. If i remember right there are a couple of little things different also but nothing big.

good numbers to the op! where is it you can look for the ls6 numbers on the block? haven't really thought about it, but i guess if mine has the ls6 block and i've added the ls6 heads, then basically i'm running an ls6??

Where did you get the crate from? im in the process of doing a similar swap right now but with more bolt ons.... I also have a built 10 bolt so im hoping for a little higher numbers

Miakes 407rwhp 387rwtq and with 70000 miles on it went a new best last year 11.53 @ 122.6 hitting the rev limiter 50' before the traps on 18's with a 1.90 sixty. I still have the ls6 intake. All other bolt-ons... i need to change my sig
