Maybe he wanted the manifolds to make it more of a sleeper.

yeah the tune makes most of the power on the c6 z06, the headers pick it up but not a tremendous amount, the ones i put on, the guy said he could feel a difference, but he definitely made more power with the intake and tune

i dont know why this one didnt make more, maybe that low of results is not normal? i would hope they make 30 hp difference, if so than they are definitely worth the money!

Could just be one of those freak things. Same as the way some cammed LS1's pick up 20 rwhp with a FAST intake and some only 5.

Also I would think the gains of LT's vs. LS7 manifolds on a 427 would be more signifigant than on a 6.2 because the LS7 manifolds prolly flow really good on a motor smaller than what they were designed for.

Does that make sense?lol

Cool Patrick!

Patrick I have a question for ya!

Can a tuner (((((((((( any))))))))))))) take a car with a agressive cam , good heads and full boltons and make it drive like a daily driver in 3 hours ?

I know they can make peak power in that time! Just seems to me anymore that more and more people are gett afr right on the dyno pulls and making good power and then just handing the car back telling the customer that it is tuned!
I read lastnight alone 47 threads about big named sponsers on here getting great power from the car and the sending customer home and it starts to act up bucking surging not holding idle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the only thing i did find true that every single car U!!!!!!!!! tuned ... the customer said you had the car for awhile and on return of the car its drove as good if not better than stock and still got sick power!
So what are we paying for ? I mean 400 to 500 dollers is the going price and seems to me ... The car should be dead on ball.
So many guys on here.. are going to tuning them selfs after being burned so many times . Tuners saying there is nothing they can do ......( nature of the beast) or ( it was fine when it left here!)
I mean people go to the sponser because of the big # but seriously i would take 50 less hp knowing my car is gonna drive like stock rather than pull 550hp ............. and cant hold a ******* idle at stop sign or buck like a rabbed mule!
I am kindda in the same boat here , but so many many more guys on here keep going back and getting the same **** .........

I dont know i am going off on a rant here ........ ! Patrick in your opinion ! How long should it take a tuner to make a car run like you make them?

IMO It depends on the car and the tuner. Your idea of an aggressive cam and mine could be different. (240+). WOT tuning is easy to a degree. Adjust timing and fuel, car either likes it or not. Part throttle is a fine art. If I was to tune someone's car, I'd tell them its between 2-6 hrs depending on the car and how it is. No two cars are identical. They may be similar, but never identical.

PS - What about when the customer takes the car out and has a different driving habit then the tuner? How is that taken into account? It happens...

I don't know how long it takes other tuners, but it takes me a long time to do a solid drivability tune. It's incredibly time consuming when you're having to tame a nasty cam with lots of overlap. That's why I can't give it away. I'm fairly expensive, but very few tuners do comprehensive drivability tuning. They couldn't. They'd go broke charging $500 and spending a full day or two to do it right.

Again, what I do is not beyond what you can do on your own. You just need to know what to change and what to leave alone. Sadly, most tuners change things they should not and totally ruin the street manners. I really dislike re-doing someone else's tune. I'd rather have a bone stock file. Goes much quicker.
