382 Stroker LS1 Dyno Results!

Today I had my car Dyno tuned by Jayson at MTI. Let me say thanks to Jayson as he is the master when it comes to tuning. Final Timing was only 22 deg. But we got 0 knock retard and no true knock.

Mods and car..

99 FRC Corvette M6

382 Lunati Stroker Kit
X1 Cam 112 LSA
Stage 2 Heads w 2.02 1.57 Valves
LS6 Intake
Katech Throttle Body
ASP Pulley
FLP Longtubes w/ cats
B&B PRT Exhaust
Blackwing CAI
LS1 Edit Tuning

RWHP 455 @ 6400 RPMS
RWTQ 440 @ 4800 RPMS

I am more than happy with these results. I still have more left in her! I am still running stock Rockers. Yella Terra 1.7 would yeild about 10 more RWHP. And the new electric water pump is worth another 10 RWHP. So 475 RWHP is very possible.

Hats off to GFORCE Performance in Pearland. Jay and Mark are top notch guys who did a great motor and clutch install for a good price. Thanks to Mike Savoy of Extreem Machines in League City for busting his ass to do my heads and assemble my motor in under a weeks time. And thanks to MTI for getting the beast tuned.

I know take it to the track! Soon......

very nice results

I'll be very interested to see what power the YTs are worth. Im thinking about them for the X1 in my 387. I will also be interested in the EWP... Post back with results soon :)

That torque has got to be a real blast :)

Yea the boat has pissed me off. Ive dumped a couple of grand in it this summer and still havent seen a new best. I still bet from a dead stop the impy would eat and shit out the vette.

Great numbers...

Did your Lunati kit come with dished pistons? What CR are you running?

Can we see a graph. How does the torque look? Where does 400rwhp first come in. I am very interested in these results. Good Luck with your "new"car. Bear

Mike, what injectors were those numbers attained on?

Mike TexaSS 09-04-2003 03:10 PM

Re: 382 Stroker LS1 Dyno Results!

Cam 230/227 .591 .571

The pistons are flat tops with valve reliefs(sp)

Injectors are SVO 30lb

The comp ratio is high around 11.7.1 I do have to add octane booster to every tank to reduce knock.

It hits 400 RWHP at around 4800 RPMS

My old dyno numbers with just cat back, FLP's, Blackwing and tuning were

344 RWHP + 111 RWHP = 455 RWHP
356 RWTQ + 84 RWTQ = 440 RWTQ

Thoose were the gains of the stroker.

I am about to add a stroker to my Vette. I am leaning towards the 383 also, BTW I have the Yella Terras already on my H/C car and it really knocked the noisey valvetrain down a few decibles.

Yea the stock rockers are loud now. We shall see i wont be adding threockers for quite a while im low on $$$

Tell me about it. I just spent 7k$ on a motor and now Im poorer than dirt.

But I "need" Yella Terras, LS1 Edit, and the boneheads in PCM tuning just started a Wideband O2 GP. Im *so* screwed.

oh and I could use some ZR1 style 11" rears with Nitto DRs.

dammit. Where can you donate plasma? ;)

Congrats!! Welcome to the stroker club, torque feels nice does'nt it!

I can't get enough of mine, see sig. below, but like you guys I'm tapped for funds too. :(

Well enjoy the new power and start saving for the LSX intake!! :burn:

Good numbers Mike, 455/440 is the EXACT numbers my 382ci had when I dusted your ass on Westheimer when we first met ;)

Your hardtop should run 10s with that power and traction :D

Re: 382 Stroker LS1 Dyno Results!

Hmm, those numbers do seem a little low.... What do the heads flow, you'd be surprised how much you're leaving on the table with so so flowing heads.

Re: 382 Stroker LS1 Dyno Results!

I think that cam is entirely too small...you need some more duration. My car swallowed up a 242/242 cam and has near stock like qualities at idle (only slight rumble). With a 232/236 cam in there, you could not even tell the car had a cam! With good heads you can be making a lot more power than I am currently.
