G5X2 cam,Comp 977 springs,titaium retainers,
yella terra rockers,Comp R lifters
That valvetrain is interesting. That's one of the first times i've seen someone run the 977's on a LS1.

Rumor has it that the 987's can float the valves with a duration over 232. I am floating the valves on mine with the 987's and will soon be going to the 977's. The Comp R's were suggested as well because of the spring pressure.

Ive been running 977s on my AS Stg 2s for a 5mo now. Definately need comp R lifters or the like to run over 400lb open spring pressure.

I made that comment because I have run 977 springs on SBC motors with pretty agressive Hyd Roller cams. On top of that when the XE-R lobes came out Comp specifically stated that those lobes need the 977 to controll valve/lifter properlly. When you go to that much valve spring then you have to run a Comp R lifter to even handle it.
155lbs on the seat and over 400lbs over the nose is pretty hard on a Hyd Roller lifter.

The 329 pull was with slp long tubes,K&n FIPK,GMMG catback, and all the free stuff, I have an ls1 block,we tried the tricks none really gained much, the pull u saw is how i drive it no short belt, air cleaner on,stock flywheel,315 drag radials on 17x11 wheels are no dyno trick,an a street tune not a ragged edge dyno tune for one pull 12.8/1 a/f an 28degrees timing when the weathewr breaks im goin back for a re-tune with a bigger maf an maybe give it a more aggresive tune but i gotta put my clutch in an i have to order a rear

The piston to valve clearance is only an issue on the 5.3 heads due to the larger valves. The Absolute speed heads are our choice when we need a very good head at a reasonable price. You still have to fly cut, and should try to get close to 11:1 comp ratio so you can still use 93octane gas.

Our cam and head package using the Absolute 5.3 head and G5X-2 package includes Stage 2.5 heads, G5X-2 cam, hardened pushrods, Cometic head gaskets, new head bolts, new crank bolt, new GM timing chain, Mail order LS1 edit tuning, and 30# ford injectors for $4295. Deduct $300 if you already have injectors, and minus another $300 if you don't need the LS1 edit mail order tune.

I have one package sitting on the shelf now ready to go.

The power is there over and over again. And Jay at Absolute Speed and LGM have worked together to make his heads work really well with our package.

Thanks

Lou G LG Motorsports 972-272-7753

And LG Motorsports will give you a $100 trade in for any other competitors cam, if it is in good condition and complete.

I have one more question, why didnt you go with the 2.5 head that lg carries? and do you think there is more power from the stg2.5 heads over the stg2

I went with this, because this is the head that Jay (Absolute) set me up with i have no idea if Lou's head would make more power than these because i don't have them.As far as I'm concerned i have the best cylinder head being offered at this time, an could'nt be happier with the results i got

Forgive me if I'm blind or missed this, but what are the specs of the G5X2 cam?
