Driving to a comedy show tonight on the freeway (two lanes, open up ahead) with two of my buddies. I'm cruising in 6th gear at 75MPH - next thing I know, a silver E46 M3 pulls up along side of me. He has two other guys in the car.

I look over at him and he's looking over at me, we play cat and mouse for a few minutes, we both do a few flybys. Eventually we line up, I nod at him and he nods at me. I drop in to 3rd at 75MPH and hold it until three honks and gun it. I pull a car on him in no time, pull two-three cars through fourth and by the time I'm in fifth he is a few bus lengths behind me. I'm over 130 on my speed-o so I shut down and we go on our ways.

Good run, but I wouldn't hold those results as "normal." E46 M3s typically run right with/just behind LS1 F-bodies in the 1/4 mile, in both et and trapspeed. Sounds to me like he might have started in the wrong gear

Edit: And wouldn't this go better in the Street Racing and Kill Stories section? Doesn't seem like a dyno/bench race to me...
