i have a friend with a 66 hemi coronet. its an old race car that was tubbed and caged back in 1970. its a 4 speed car with a 472 hemi thats a lil warmer then stock. big tube headers, ignition, solid cam about 295ish(so he says), 4.10s out back in a dana and some 335 rubber on widened steel wheels.
i was in the car and it pulls hard enough to snap your neck back over the seat (no headrests in this car). it actually made me laugh out loud it was so fun. i was thinking about what it takes from my 98 Z to get in front of him. im almost all stock, free mods, cat back TSP rumbler, and 373s. i have a YANK SS3600 but its not in the car yet. he was seen pullin a traction limited 7.90 in the 1/8th at our local strip. but i know the car doesnt always run consistant, but what hemi does? they are finnicky ive been around quite a few.
what do you all think?
pics of the car.

i think you might need to just race him and see how it goes then if you need to start spending some money its not like that car is stock.
edit
why isnt your tc in the car yet? install that first at least? get some headers and lid and some other bolt ons if you dont have em then and a 150 shot. i think you might be ok then...

He'll come barrelin down on ya like a feight train after the 1/8. On a good day I seen full resto full weight b and e body mopars run mid to low 11s on street tires with similar hemi set up with 4spd's. All i gotta say is mopars can run hard if ya wake em up.
