Default better for roll racing? wheels?

so what would slow me down more on a roll race, c5 zo6 replicas (heavy) with 295/35/zr18 street tires or stock firebird wheels (good bit lighter than zo6's) with 26/10.50 et street bios splys? was told that because the et street were much more sticky that they would slow me down on a roll race because of the increased friction from the stickyness. from what they said my replicas with the street tires would be faster on the street from a roll even though they weight a good bit more than the stock wheel et street combo.

is this true or will the car be faster with the stock wheel et street combo as they are atleast 15lbs each lighter maybe even more than that actually?

Or race like a man and go from a dig where the ET streets would be king. Run the smallest tire you can... if you only need 8.5 the run 8.5....

I would run the DRs. My zo6s are heavy as ****. The tires may be sticky, but what is better from a roll...instant traction and go, or risk spinning. Even the neon might spin...giving you the edge. And since you are 415 hp..I am assuming this skittle is stage 3 or a 50 trim type turbo, right? He will have traction issues at 40 mph or so..

you mean FWHP? Should be a decent race. if he spins and you put down your power you have him. Slap on the ETs and ask him for one dig race lol

shoot lol he would never run me from a dig. actually we all just went to the local drag strip an he was to scared to run even on street tires. kept saying something about breaking an axle. i was like " man im out here on the 10 bolt with 26x10.5s an if i dont break it you wont lol".

the extra friction from the et streets slowing you down is a myth. You are just concerned with rotating mass. Run the et streets.

oh ive seen a difference between lighter and heavier tires an rims before an it was on my car too. friend of mine used to have a bolt on 4.30 geared 05 gt an back when mine was just headers, exhaust, an cai i switched for my heavy c5 thin spoke replicas with heavy 285/40/18s inch perrelli tires back to my stock firebird wheels with 245/50/16s and it literally made a 2-3 car swing from a roll. he used to pull me by 2 to 3 cars on a roll an when i put the stock wheels back on the car were became a dead heat race with me pulling him slightly on the top end.

Quick Reply: better for roll racing? wheels?
