Info on Cobra would help. What year? If it's 03-04 bolt-ons and tune could possibly get the job done

A nice cam setup should get the job done.

03-04 cobras are damn beasts!! to atleast hang with one, a nice size cam and good heads and a fast 92/92 intake.

Stock cobra's (03-04) run anywhere from 12.2-12.6 usually around 112-115.

Bolt-on mods and a cam should get you close to that mark if not slightly surpassing it. Beware of modded cobra's though. They can trap 120 with nothing more than a pulley and a tune.

My buddies 03 cobra with stage 5 ported blower, lower pully,etc... It put down 480 rwhp and 520 torque.. And at the track went 11.8 at a 120 +.. And its stock suspension and clucth etc... Sick car forsure.

It kinda sucks that we can do a bunch of work to our ls1's to make em fast, then some scrub buys a cobra with a pulley and thinks he's a badass.

Depends on your buddies mods, it could be as simple as full exhaust and a tune to as wild as a forged shortblock with a big shot, either way does he have any suspension mods are we talking from a dig or from a roll?

Depends on mods to the Cobra really. I beat 1 stock and 1 modded Cobra in my stock Formula due to the drivers couldnt drive. Then i raced a stock one from a 60 roll and he put about a car and a half up tp 120, then with the same drive with x pipe and cat back on the Cobra now, we went from a dig and I was beat by about a car and a half up to 110.

With a decent driver and a stock Cobra, i would say headers, ypipe and a tune. Also, a simple 75 shot on a stock LS1 would do it, of course Id go atleast 100-125 for fun but a 75 would be enough. Now if hes pullied or spraying him self, your gonna have to spend some money.

No matter what, you will have to be at or like 10-20whp under his wheel horsepower in order to win from a roll I would say since his Cobra is heavier. From a dig, more then pure horsepower comes in to play like, driver, suspension, WHP, tires, type of street, reaction time. Alot of things.

like somone above said they will run mid 12's with a good driver, so if you want to WIN and not just keep up then you want to make sure you have a low 12 car, so heads/cam would prolly do the trick, if you go with bolt ons and a tune some on here have said that would do it, but i disagree, with bolt ons and a tune it may be an even race, if you through a cam in there, and heads to be certain you should be fine, you said hes spraying it, you need to know how much? can he drive? because this is kind of a broad question, i mean for all you know its a ten second car, but maybe hes bs and no spray the car would be in the 12's, or anywhere between. so basically if you got the money then do heads/cam with full bolt ons and give it a try, but so you know if hes sprayin anything bigger than a 50-75 then you might be out of luck without a serous setup or nitrous/forced induction

The OP never said he was spraying. Someone else said Nitrous as in get nitrous to beat him. Also, IDK if the SS is auto or 6spd but Ive seen a Camaro with full exhaust/tune and a stall only run 12.5s all day at my track. So yes, if the Cobra is stock, Bolt ons will do.
