Default Stock A4 98 Camaro Z28, 4.10 gears: What will it run?

I picked up an internally stock 98 Camaro Z28 hard top model 3 days ago and the only mod done to it was these 4.10 gears and a Magnaflow Catback. I've seen threads where bone stock auto LS1 Z28s with factory 2.73 - 3.23 gears would run something anywhere from low to mid 13s and trap at about 103 - 105 mph as long as you hook up well (of course with drag radials). Now because this car already has these 4.10 gears on, is it likely that this car will break into the mid to high 12s?

Too much gear for an A4 imo, but you should be able to hit 12s in that on a good 60 ft with a good DA.

Do you know what your track's DA is close to?

Well, of course the DA here in the hot Florida summer would easily be in the 2000s - 3000s. Car shifts at 6000 rpms at WOT. I'd probably be crossing the finish line at 5500 rpms in 3rd and be going 105ish mph.

It would be nice to run once or twice in Bradenton's quarter mile strip and see how the car performs with these 4.10s. I might just get lucky and strike high 12s with sticky tires, you never know. I'm probably gonna be forced to change them soon and buy factory 3.23s because my commute to and from work involves 90 miles of highway everyday.

I wouldn't count on it in the summer, but again, you never know until you try.

if you change them I would shoot for 3.42 as a great compromise gear...I am only at 1950-2050rpm at 70mph and get 24-25mpg doing so

in your crappy air it might barely squeak into the 12s but I wouldn't get your hopes up too much

your car sounds identical to mine. I have a 01 Z28 hardtop A4. the only mods done to the car was a Magnaflow catback and 4:11 gears.

thats kinda crazy and i only got the car 5 days ago. I was wondering the same thing but i'll be running the 8th instead of the 1/4.
