400rwhp unlocked auto vs 400rwhp m6, trap speed
Lets say you lined up the of the same two z28's except one makes 400rwhp unlocked and the other makes 400rwhp with a 6 speed who has the bettter trap speed or who wins in a roll race? Would they be the same or very close or what?

It should be very, very close. Who edges who out would depend on converter selection with the auto and other small details IMO. Actually autos dyno less unlocked so an unlocked auto making 400 is more powerful then an M6 making 400whp. A 400whp locked auto is equal to the M6 @ 400whp.
However, no doubt all else being equal the A4 with ET win in the 1/4. Trap and freeway roll, I have to give the slight advantage to the M6, especially if the A4 has something like a 3200 converter. However, if the A4 has a converter like a PT4400, I think it would be even.

Well no most dont lock when racing. But if you are just saying even HP cars auto vs M6 from a roll, I think it will come down to obvious stuff like gearing and weight. I have raced M6s with slightly more power from like a 20 punch and we were dead even till like 70-80 when we had to shut down.....But if we could pretend that everything was identical, I give a slight edge to the M6 once the A4 hits 3rd gear. A4s tend to pull really well in 1st and 2nd, but 3rd is a long gear for us. Higher the speed I give the advantage to M6.

Locked numbers ensure accuracy for one. Torque converters skew the readings from the dyno some from what I have heard. And yeah it makes some guys feel better
