Default trap speed question

ok i took my car to the track and ran 3 times, im still on the stock 10 bolt so i was trying to take it easy on it, i was on bald sumi's, did a nice burn out (dont care what yall say it' helps) anyways first pass was kinda just a test, slipped the clutch off the line real bad and got a 2.4 so, 2nd pass i did it a lil less but missed 4th , 3rd pass i slipped it even less and got a 2.3 60' and finished the 1/4 @ 13.2 @ 108.29... now my question lies here, i know i can get a 2.0 60' EASY, BUT im really scared of my 10 bolt crappin out on me, i didnt run a 4th time cause the line was really long and i had to work the next morning... now what a is a normal time with a 108 trap speed? i think i a pretty good driver, and can launch really good, i was just feathering the clutch for the rear ends sake, i used to have a 2v rustang on 315 sumi's and was runnin 2.0 60' all day and ran 14.1 in it bone stock... i know 2.0 is not good but for street tires and basically a stock car i consider it pretty decent... anyways what do yall think my time should be?

your gonna lose a couple mph with a faster e.t. The reason you trapped so high was because you had a horrible launch. With a 2.0 60' youll go 12.90s or so at 106-108 IMO.

A 2.0 60 ft. is avg. for street tires on a f-body with a 10- bolt. I've done several 1.7X passes with Nitto road race tires on differnt f-bodies I've owned, no problems. I've seen a few 10-bolt driven to 1.6X 60 fts. I'm talking 6 speed cars, automatics should be able to launch even better.

If your that worried about the 10 bolt, stop doing the burnouts. They are just as hard if not harder on the rear end then launching it hard. Think about it, your reving it up to 3-4k and then dumping the clutch and sending all that force to the rear. Its the exact same as dumping it off the line and hoping it hooks. You could try and use the emergency brake to preload the rear end and then leaving. Ive tried it but embarassed the **** out of myself lol. Its hard holding one hand on the e-brake, one on the wheel and then matching the friction point of the clutch and rpms and time the light, but it does help. I dont think you need to worry much about the rear end if your on street tires. Like I said, the burnout is hurting it too.

thats a good point i never thought of it that way, and i agree i have seen examples on this forum of guys running 11's repeatedly on stock 10 bolt. now watch me blow my 12bolt
