droppin a 370 in my wifes tahoe
OK well at first i was just thinking of throwing a for sale sign on the Tahoe my wife drives and looking for a diesel excursion, but i have 3 car payments as it is and i want to someday get something paid off and that will never happen if i keep trading things in. SO.. my new plan is to take some of the tax refund and get a 370 short-block form Texas speed, and throw my 241's on it for now. i have a truck intake sitting in my garage and a ls6 intake also if it will fit. i plan on getting a FLT level 4. my question is, will the level 4 hold together behind a mild 370. i wont be spraying or anything, but may throw some stage 1 ls6 heads or stage 2.5 5.3 heads and a baby cam or something like that on it someday. plus the fact that she's a heavy bitch. i just want to get some pep out of it, maybe turn those 33's over every once in a while. so any truck guys in here have any thoughts?

^^^ What do you think a 370 comes from?
You might want to consider a stock 4L80e for a truck that heavy, esp. if you plan on towing ANYTHING heavier than a dirt bike, FLT has a version they build up for off-roaders.
A prepped 4L65e might hold up to normal use and a little romping after your planned mods.
