build DSM vs 408 l92 camaro
me and a close friend were having a discussion about how our cars would do if we ever ran them. we used to both be big into the DSM crowd. but i got into v8's and never looked back.
anyway he has a 1991 AWD eclipse, rebuilt forged engine and running i'm 99% sure a hx35 or 40. huge injectors on e85. a homebuilt twinscroll exhaust manifold. and really high boost, cant remember the exact psi.
i have a forged 408, 11.5-1, ported l92, custom 230/242 cam, tick2 trans, 12bolt, 315 Dr's, full suspension. i do have nitrous but will only use it as a last resort to edge out a win, because i only have a 75 shot on it.
i thought he would destroy me out of the hole, but he says at his power level and the fact that he cant get much tire under the fender he will also have traction problems. AND, if he does get traction he says the weak trannys in dsm's wont hold up to very many runs. so he wants to just get the best slip he can at the track and battle that way.
im hoping for 10's on motor, he thinks he may get one glory run in the 10's before his trans lets go.
i was hoping some of the DSM guys on here can chime in with their thoughts on what a properly setup hx35 ,e85, high boost AWD DSM could run, and even though he never will, what a race between us would turn out like.
oh and if any of you DSM guys get on dsmtuners, he is dsmonster over there, that might give you more info into his setup, he is a wiseman or something.

he wont run me, he says he will race me with time slips. i personally would love to line em up at a stoplight, but thats what gets me in trouble.

Depends on how well he can tune and PSI, there are tons of people trapping 125+ on the HX35 and 130+ on the HX40. If his tranny is stock, it will be destroyed after a run or two with that power, maybe an axle or transfer case too.
