stock for stock and mod for mod the 5.0 is usually faster.

However, the LS1 platform is cheaper and easier to work on.

If we are going bang for your buck performance its hard to not think of the older 5.0's right away(not stock obviously). Great cars honestly they are and don't cost anything now.

I have a buddy that went to the strip with me the first time I took my Z28(when it was stock) my best time was 13.4 at 104, and his was something like 13.2 and idk trap speed but he doesnt have more than a couple thousand dollars in it.

Moral of this story is he is right. The new 5.0 is great, the ls1 is great, and even the old 5.0's still are good. Its all in what your taste is.

I like chevy can't ever decide why

My brother went to Greenville, TX yesterday. His 2011 GT/CS (6 speed 3.55 gears) ran a 8.17@90mph in the 1/8th with CAI, removed exhaust resonators, and aftermarket mufflers and mail order tune. 1.98 60ft on street tires.

90mph is the average trap for a mild cammed/ bolt on fbody at that track, so I would say they are doing well
