Default Auto LS2 GTO vs. M6 LS1 Z/28

Friend has an automatic LS2 (I think) GTO. I have a '98 Z/28 M6. His is bone stock. Only mod I have on my car is 295 Nitto NT05's. Should I expect the win or does the LS2's power make up for the weight difference and auto transmission? I'm sure if it were an LS1 GTO I'd come away with the win correct? Those goats are Very heavy.

Probably depends on how well you shift. Statistically, you should have the edge, but only if you can drive it.

I know that off the line I *should have an advantage, since he's on the stock converter and I have tires and can launch it. I'm just worried about the power that LS2 has, man do they have low end. I can shift it about as fast as it can handle, if not for a bad 2nd gear synchro and overall transmission health I'd be powershifting. I can still pull some nice shifts but nowhere near as fast as I could be... I have to work with what I have.
