Default What can I expect?

Can someone give me a ballpark of what i could expect with my 5.3? Ill list below of what my setup is
Comp Cams 228R (.588 IN/ .588 EX)
PAC 1218s
LS1 intake with Returnless fuel rail and stock 5.3 injectors( got a good price on it)
Shorty headers. No CATS if that matters lol
Stock 706 heads (IRON block btw)

350 maybe at the tires. The short tubes and ls1 intake are going to kill power. I bet you run out of injector as well. Add some long tubes if you can, an ls6 or better intake and some larger injectors and you might see close to 400.

IDK where people get the idea shorties "kill" power. Shorties have a tendency to broaden the torque curve on the low side by almost 500rpms. With a split cam like you're running though you'll need more scavenging that LTs will bring. I also really don't like the even splits on the 706/852 heads because the smaller intake valves (than 243/799 heads). I also see no mention of a torque converter... Your LS1 intake also doesn't flow as well as the stock truck intake at lower RPMs.

I'd guess you around 300-325 rwhp, but with a soggy bottom-end. It's just a guess but tuning will make a HUGE difference. You also need a loose ~3000ish coverter.

When comparing shortys to long tubes, they kill power potential. Yes, they broaden the torque curve, but overall, it's going to be less powerful almost throughout the power band.

Otherwise I agree with everything you said.
