Just wanting to get an idea of what HP this combo will be making. I have this in the shop just have to mill the heads.

LM4 5.3L 60K miles
ARP Rod Bolts
ARP Head studs
241 heads, milled .030, ported exhaust side
MLS head gasket
Tooley .660 VS kit
Comp Cam 232/242 .630/.646 112lsa
Victor JR

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

My guess is that you're going to have a turd with that cam in a 5.3. Maybe you get 415hp out of it, but IMO it won't drive well at all.

Looking for 400 at the crank, think it will be alright with a 150 shot on it. I already have this setup as of now, going to be shopping for a 6.0 bottomend this spring.

After checking PTV on a few of these with smaller cams than this im fairly certain you would have to fly cut the pistons for this to work and the 241 heads have bigger than stock valves to make it even worse.

Ill check the PTV on it, I purchased the motor off a guy 2 weeks ago. It has not been ran yet, but I have turned it over by hand. Thanks, I do have the 862s and stock cam also.

If it were me, I'd keep the 862 heads and get them worked and reinstall with a .040" head gasket. If you're running carb'd then look at the Vinci "nasty" cam.

I run 862 5.3 heads with a Torquer 2 cam, and it makes great bottom end and mid range power with a awesome top end punch

Looks like im going to go ahead and port the exhaust on the 862s, put the stock cam back in and drop this in my 68 C10 while I work on getting a 6.0L bottom end. Also will be getting a dual plane intake to replace this victor jr. May leave the headstuds on it so that it will be happy with a shot of nitrous.
