Default Get the guesses coming! Closest guess gets 10$ paypaled! Lets have fun!

I'm going to the dyno on the 18th with my truck. Lookin for guesses. I'd be willing to turn this into a game and the winner will get 10$ thru Paypal! Lets make it interesting! 10$ ain't much but it's free money lol. I'm good for the cash and I want to make this fun, my rep shows it here and eBay. (004sti is my eBay username) Now lets get down the the setup

The engine is as follows, lq4 block with ls2 pistons and rods on the stock lq4 crank. Stock untouched ls3 heads with stock ls3 head gaskets. Edelbrock victor jr intake manifold untouched with prc duals. It has a cam motion 234/250 .628/.621 112+4 (108 icl/116ecl) cam and a pro systems 4150 carb (980-1040 cfm) fine tuned in by me to have a 12.6 afr at wot. Brp 1-7/8 long tune headers with 3" collectors and 3" true dual exhaust with glasspacks about 20" after the collectors. The running gear consists of a th400 trans built for 600 hp with a unknown 3600 rpm converter that's fairly tight, steel driveshaft and stock rear end with 3.73 gears and the diff welded up, factory c5 corvette wheels with 275/40/18 run flat street tires. The limiter is set at 7200 rpms and if its still gaining we might bump it up until it show its falling off. Timing is set at 29* from 5200 on due to 91 octane gas.

I will post the results and pay to the closest to my highest horsepower number rounded to the nearest hp. The dyno being used is a dyno dynamics 2wd dyno. Any duplicates for the win will only be paid out to the first one to post the numbers an only 1 guess per person please. Please only post whole numbers, no tenths. If you have tenths your vote won't count cuz it would be a pain in the *** to figure whose closer.

I will be making 3 runs, the first 2 will be on motor and the highest numbers of the 2 will be the one we go for for the results. I'm only interested in guessing peak hp here so guess away! The 3rd run will hopefully be on 100 shot for fun but I fully expect something to let go on the juice.

I think it will see around 436rwhp.

If that steel driveshaft isn't 3.5-4" in diameter and high speed balanced, I see it blowing out in the middle at around 6k rpm by the third pull. Be careful.

I don't want anyone gettin hurt from a drive shaft exploding, maybe we will hold off on the juice.

I got 3 or 4 gopros (I forget ha) and a bunch of mounts and a gopole, there will be vids of alot of the runs and definitely of mine. There will be a bunch of nice cars there!

Thanks for the replies!

The problem isn't the power so much as the harmonics. It's probably fairly long if in a full size truck and the steel makes it heavy. This causes it to flex in the middle at high rpm.

I've broken one and it took the transmission with it, busted the case in 3-4 places.

Saw a lsx swap truck do it on the dyno a few months ago and he said it was his second one.

Google search "driveshaft critical speed" or "driveshaft critical rpm" for details.

Thanks for the the head up, this is in a gmc s15 pickup. Its pretty short and weighs 2800 lbs without a driver. I know the weight isn't important, but it shows the power to weight ratio this thing has haha. It pulls pretty hard

Thanks for all the guesses! Dyno is done! Results are in! The dyno dynamics is a heart breaker for sure, they said theirs reads about 14% lower than a dyno jet so I'm ok with it. Drum roll please. 399.6 hp@6800 rpms. Rounded up makes it 400 hp to the wheels on their dyno. They stopped the dyno early due to some tire vibration by it wasn't gunna pick up more than a few over 400. I think i could have picked up a few with another jet change but i was out of time. He said it was at 12.5:1 afr thru the run but i wasnt watching. Using their 14% and the 400 numbers it should dyno around 450-460 whp (ricer math). Not bad for a stock engine with a cam and a stalled th400. On to the vid.

djfury05 pm me your Paypal and ill send ya 10 whole smackers. Thanks for all the guesses guys I had a blast at the dyno!

They dynoed a bunch of cars, all ran lower numbers than expected. A intake exhaust hand held tuned 300c srt8 pulled a measly 303 whp. A turbocharged lm7 swapped 240sx with a t56 manual made 378 hp on 12 psi. I was happy because they said in all their time my truck holds the record for the highest hp for a pump gas n/a street engine and second to any other n/a engine (imac b-mod circle track car with race gas and light weight running gear ran 421 whp) so I was pretty stoked

It weighs 2800 right now but I can get it down another 75-100 lbs pretty easially. Plus I'm runnin. Iron block and a th400 so that adds up a bit too. It's a fun truck right now and really turns heads even idling around our tiny town. It looks like **** but sounds rowdy.
