Is there any way this 408 will make 450 rwhp?
I'm building a LQ4 408. Eventually I want to run it for boost, so i'm going with -29cc dished pistons. But I won't be able to add the turbo for at least 6 months maybe as long as a year and a half. I'm gonna be using .040 thick cometic gaskets, and 58cc 243 heads, LS6 intake with 42lb injectors. I'm just hoping to make 450 n/a for now. Would I be close? and does anyone have a recommendation on cam? I'm thinking of using the one in my sig for now, but i'll take free advice. Thanks.

I think you would get better results using a carb then efi. Timing can be more aggressive and higher allowing for a higher torque figure and that usually brings the horsepower up some with it.
I changed my setup from efi to carb from last year to this year, along with a few other minor chages, and the difference in the 1/8th mile was 0.8 seconds faster on motor only.
