You are probably going to need to run those closer to 16psi to get them to hook.

It's a roadrunner converter and I'll be racing at Tucson dragway, it's a 1/4 mile. I'll start at 20psi and drop it if it won't hook but I know those tires won't cut it. I'll Get some et streets when these are worn out.

With those tires I'll say maybe 11.7-11.8 at maybe 117

Well high 11s was the goal, we'll see if the track and tires cooperate. I saw a six speed car with a slightly bigger cam untouched 243s and an ls6 intake trap 114 at our track so I would like to belive i could trap 116+ (my other goal).

Well tonight went pretty bad. Best I could muster was a 12.6 @110 1.9 60ft. Even at 16psi I was blowing the tires off bad. Also I left the shifter in drive and let it handle the shifts but it would shift at 6k. All that said I can tell there is a lot left in this car. First time to the track with this much power and first time with a stalled auto.

Why is it shifting at 6k?

Tuner never changed it and I forgot to tell him to. I'm gonna bump it up to 6500 for next time car loves rpm. I feel like my torque converter is very loose or I'm spinning even worse than I think. car doesn't "come alive" till top of third I see a yank 4k in my future. The track was just bad tonight though, they were mopping up water from the car in front of me right before I ran. had like three oil downs/wrecks, we were sitting in the lanes for hours.

Yeah it's hard to gauge anything until that rev limiter is bumped. I'd have it more like 6700-6800 if it were me

Definitely need to be spinning that thing higher. Imo the tuner should of done that on his own or at least brought it up instead of just leaving it and calling it good.

Also I would guess with your cheaper converter that you are running now that it is extremely inefficient. Slipping way to much at wot. Go with the yank 4000. It will be a night and day difference with a quality converter.

If you run those 555R's at the track again, they also need some serious heat. Let them smoke like John Force man, when ya think they're hot...... go a bit longer.

Yeah really kicking myself on the converter choice, I knew I should have gone with a quality 4k after a week of driving this one. With the tires, I did a 2nd gear burnout but the car started driving through the brakes had to let off a little early. Hopefully I can raise the shift points and get a yank in this thing then go back out and do a MASSIVE burnout and see what happens. Plus I'm gonna change these spiral flows out for something else and get my mwc torque arm on. If the little lady will let me....

Slight update, car developed a leak from the rear cover so I said screw it I'll put a ss4k in it while the trans is out. So as the car sits the the trans out yank is waiting to go in and I got my MWC T/A in. Still haven't addressed the shifting rpm I want to be able to change it at the track so I'm looking at hand-held tuners.

Good deal, you will like that yank ss4000 so much better.
Post up what ya think when you get it in
