Default Guy came over who owns a 2015 mustang...

So I had a guy come over today and he claims his mustang with cold air intake, catback exhaust and a tune runs 12.6 in the quarter with 1.9 60'. He is on a 93 octane tune.

Is this on PAR with what they should run?

He plans on a Boss 302 intake, slicks, and full exhaust over winter. Will this car runs 11's?

He said guys with the same mods have ran 11.2... I just find that INSANE. I know nothing about them 5.0 motors other than the dyno's ive seen on youtube making around 430rwhp.

I will go out and buy a mustang if they can run low 11's with exhaust, intake, tune and slicks.

Auto 5.0's with an optimized bolt-on setup, converter, and tire will run deep 11's without significant weight reduction.

The potential is there I will say that. I met a guy back earlier in the year at a track visit that had a bolt on coyote car, 6 speed at that running bottom bottom 11's.

Wow, apparently I need to spend some time at the track next year and pick those 5.0 guys brains.... Sounds like some serious potential for a full weight car.

I have returned to LS after a few years playing with coyotes. My last 2 were a 13' and a 14' both A6 cars, both I had those exact mods tune/CAI/catback and that is on par if not above par for what they can do, with a sticky tire and tune they have been making some great passes. I ended up putting a baby vortech centri on my 14' and made 6XX rwhp (forget the actual numbers) on 9lbs with stock airbox and intake manifold, basically was tune/centri. I was actually trying to keep the power down until I could get a proper drag wheel setup and suspension hence switching back to the stock airbox and using the stock pulley lol.
