Default higher comp 5.3 how much power

Hey guys, have a 5.3 I'm finishing up putting together for my suburban.

4.8/5.3 block, 4.8 flat tops, 98 ls1 crank, 00 6.0 connecting rods, pins were fit and it was all balanced. has hand file fit plasma moly rings with about .028 top and second gap. loose .025, biggest feeler I have. A series bearings, .040 speedmaster mls headgaskets, quench should be about .033 and 10.94:1ish static compression ratio. will confirm soon, need to measure piston to deck to finalize numbers. self ported 862s with stock valves and ls6 springs. tsp stage 3 truck cam, 216/220 .550 on 112 lsa. billet double roller timing chain. ring gaps are prep for future boost just to explain the gaps. also has a tsp ported ls6 oil pump. I'm thinking 450ish if my heads are worth anything. first set of heads ive ever done but have done my share of intake manifolds. did a lot of research before I did them. stock truck intake, pace setter 1 7?8th headers long tubes. looking for crank numbers. thanks guys. pictures for visual stimulation lol

Stock intake valves are going to hurt your flow numbers considerably. Lloyd Elliot practically insisted on a 2.00 intake valve when he ported 862s for a coworker and myself.

You do not have the cam duration or headflow to get 450 hp, IMO. I would say it will be a solid 400 hp and maybe 380-400 TQ. The wide 112 LSA will also hurt your midrange torque a bit compared to a tighter LSA cam offering.

Also check your piston rock. Your quench is about 0.005" too tight for my liking.

I'm not happy about the valves trust me, but we will see how it goes, if I recall these heads don't flow to far off of stock ls1 heads, which ones I don't recall. I wanted 2.00 valves but have already spent more than I wanted at the machine shop, need to get this thing back on the road. the only reason I had high hopes power wise, was based off btr running their stage 2 in a stock 5.3 and making 420 some hp. this cam is advertised a little more aggressive and with the compression bump and heads that I'm hoping are worth something, I figured I could pry get there. I'm not planning on spinning this thing past 6200 max, just depends where the cam makes power to and where it likes shifted. hoping the quench isn't a issue, I will check rock tho, didn't take that into consideration. .035 was my goal. we will see what actual piston to deck is.
