Default I Think it's Time...

I don't drive it that much anymore and It may be time to move on to another project....

So here goes....

1995 Formula hardtop Black in color 54,XXX original miles
Graphite cloth interior low option car. I am second owner, but am good friends with original owner, so I've been around the car since it was new. I bought it from the original owner in August of 2002.

No power seats, no cruise, no rear defrost. This car was bought specifically for building in a street/strip car and to be as light as possible from the factory, but still retains a/c, p/s, p/b, heat and radio...Car was sent to Lingenfelter brand new from local dealership in 1995.

MOTOR:
-Lingenfelter built 383 with a 4 bolt block, Lunati crank, Oliver 5.85" billet steel rods, and JE pistons 11.2:1 compression, runs on pump gas
-Meziere EWP
-Moroso stroker pan
-Melling pump, new oil pump drive shaft
-UMI EGR block off plates
-A.I.R. pump still hooked up and functional
-ASP 23% underdrive balancer/pulley combo

HEADS/VALVETRAIN:
-LT1 heads originally done by Lingenfelter with 2.00/1.56 Manley valves, Comp 977 double springs, and Titanium retainers, CNC'd and hand blended. Re-ported in 2005 by Eric Bradby (E.B. Porting).
-Comp high tech stainless 1.6 rockers which were just rebuilt by Comp for general maintenance.
-New Comp guide plates (maintenance)
-New Trick Flow hardened Chromoly push rods (maintenance)
-New Howads Cams hydraulic roller lifters, made by Morel (maintenance)

CAM:
-Joe Overton spec'd Erson hydraulic roller 226/234 .568" lift 111 lsa

INDUCTION/IGNITION:
-Lingenfelter CAI with extra huge K&N filter
-LT1 intake ported by Lingenfelter
-Lingenfelter/Accel 58mm TB
-TB coolant bypass
-Accel 30 lb injectors/newer factory replacement fuel pump
-Newer AC opti-spark distributor w/MSD cap and rotor
-Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm Wires OTVC kit with new NGK TR55 plugs .040" gap
-MSD 6A Box

TRANSMISSION:
-Freshly rebuilt 4L60E by A-One transmission in Glen Burnie, MD..All the best parts, etc..
-Vigilante 4000 converter
-Transmission cooler with braided steel lines

REAR END:
-Strange 12 bolt with 33 spline axles
-Spool with Richmond 4.10 gears
-Screw in 3" Moroso wheel studs
-3" steel driveshaft from A-1 Driveline, Baltimore, MD

EXHAUST:
-Kooks stepped 1 3/4-1 7/8" stainless headers
-Custom stainless 3" true duals with X-pipe, side exit
-Edelbrock 3" 304 stainless SDT mufflers

SUSPENSION:
-QA1 R series front shocks with 275 lb springs
-Removed front sway bar
-ARP 3" front wheel studs
-Spohn cross brace mounted TA with two DS loops
-Spohn chromoly rod ended LCAs with relocation brackets
-Spohn chromoly rod ended PHB
-Spohn Pro Series rear sway bar
-QA1 12 way adjustable rear shocks
-Stock rear springs
-SLP line-lock with switch hidden in ashtray

-Custom Performance Auto Fabrication 6 point chromoly roll bar with swing outs, powdercoated black/RCI Platinum series harness on driver's side with PAF custom crotch belt mount
-Car was scaled and preload set up by Tyson at Performance Auto Fabrications a few years ago

WHEELS/TIRES:
-Greg Weld/Race Stars
-15x3.5 fronts with 165 radials
-15x10 rears with M/T 325 50 R15 DRs
-Wheels/tires road force balanced with weights on inside only
-Screw in valve stems
-Open-ended wheel lugs

GENERAL INFO:
-Harwood ram air style hood
-Newer ACC molded carpet
-Sony flip down head unit with aux input for ipod, etc, factory front speakers, Kicker rear speakers
-Interior remains stock, no extra gauges, etc, rear seats and rear seat belts are currently out of car, but go with sale
-All factory original paint with exception of nose, which got backed into by a ditzy hair dresser...replaced with GM piece and painted by RACE autobody in Littlestown, PA
-Paint is 8/10 with a bit of spotting from acid rain from when original owner let it sit outside for a bit, but still looks damn good for 15 year old factory paint!
-California car cover goes with sale
-Feature car on Motorweek tv in 1996
-Feature car in BFG Drag Radial Video in 1996
-Rear gears are a bit noisey, but wear pattern is good
-Track times in sig were with a Vig 3600, stock rear sway bar, and 275 60R15 M/T radials...Has not been back to track since upping stall to 4000, adding the Spohn Pro series rear bar, and bigger M/Ts...Has 10 second potential in good air.
-Car is a blast to drive and drives anywhere...very reliable and meticulously maintained. No short cuts. Mobil 1 or Royal Purple oil only. I just freshened the top end just because the motor is 15 years old and it was the right thing to do and my intention was to keep the car, but just don't have the time to drive the damn thing!
-Tune was recently gone through by Jeremy Formato to tweak A/F and shift points

-I'm sure I'm leaving some stuff out...Asking $12,000...I'll try to get pix up. Those who know me and the car know what shape it's in and how I keep my stuff...This could be the end of an era for me but beginning of someone to own a cool LT1 N/A car...Thanks..

MAKE AN OFFER...UNFORTUNATELY THE CRAP ECONOMY MAKES IT NECESSARY TO SELL...THANKS ALL FOR LOOKING....--Alan

Thanks a lot Bret! And FWIW I have all documentation from the original Lingenfelter 383 440hp package installation as well as the original window sticker. I also have the videos from Motorweek and BFG featuring the car from 1996.

The Lingenfelter motor has been an anvil for 15 years. I enlisted Joe Overton and Eric Bradby only to help me go faster back in 2005 to try to keep up with the LS crowd! Joe spec'd a "small and nasty" cam to replace the LPE 211/219 cam that came with the package, and Eric Bradby found a bit more air in the already killer LPE ported heads. The motor has never failed me and has been dead nuts reliable.

I realize that my asking price might be a bit high so reasonable offers will be considered. I'd rather show interested buyers the car in person and I'll be glad to pm those folks my cell phone and address.

Thanks again for looking...

Thanks Andrew! Glad you like the wheels...Hopefully some die hard LT1 fan will buy the car. I'm looking ahead to getting my dad's 2003 Lingenfelter 383 Corvette in the next few years and making a beast out of that. Either that or I've always wanted a Mercedes E55 AMG...

Alan, good luck with the sale. I don't think your car is over priced, I know what it takes to go fast and still be reliable and it ain't cheap. It sounds like you have some very good parts in that car and will make some LT lover very happy.

Good luck
Jeff

Thanks you guys very much....Its kinda nice to know that my car and I are appreciated around here...This reaffirms what I've said all along which is that car people are good people...And Jeff your 10.96 run is exactly what I hope to run if I get this thing back to the track...I already run that mph, just hoping the converter, tire, and rear bar can shave .1 off my 60'...

Alan, I know your car has it in it, my car went 10.95 at the LTX shootout @ 120 mph I could not believe it went 10's @ 120 and the da was close to 2000 so what are you waiting for go get your 10 slip.

Again good luck Alan.

Man, I'm shocked to see your selling that car. That car is the baddest LT1 Formula I've ever seen. The mods on your car were done to perfection. Wish you best of luck in selling it.
