Up for sale is the stock LS1 engine out of my 2000 WS6 Trans Am. The engine has 102K miles on it and ran awesome. The only reason it was pulled, is that I came across a good deal on a low mile LS2…otherwise it would still be in the car. I have posted a couple of videos of the engine running prior to it going up on jack stands for the motor swap. The engine does not have any pings or knock’s and held 40psi oil pressure when fully warmed up with Mobile1 5w30 oil.

853 heads with center bolt valve covers? i thought those had the perimeter bolt covers?

 

It is my understanding that the early 853 had perimeter bolt valve covers and the later 853 heads have center bolt valve covers. I can snap a pic if your interested.

 

853's were used till the 241's came out in 2001. The l2000's had the center bolt 853's. Have a set on the shop floor. LOL, came from a 2000 Trans Am.
