Thats the dumbest thing I have heard in a while! maybe dodge overprices...but I paid 30 grand for a truck that would mop the floor with your LS1 AND outcorner it. How bout the 03 Cobras? Ya, those were over priced, huh? A car that comes factory with a motor built to handle 700+hp? Factory Manley H-beam rods. Uh huh, I hear ya.

SVT...and I didn't mean YOUR particular LS1, I have no idea what you drive, just pointing out that back in the day, the Lightnings and Cobras were pretty cheap speed.

Oh nice wasnt sure if you meant a newer Ford truck. I love the lightnings. I wanted one so bad before my camaro but couldnt come across one that wasnt ragged on when I was looking so I went with my camaro. Also, wasnt comparing your Lightning to my old camaro, it was cam only making 380 rwhp so nothing major at all and ive seen Plenty of lightnings that could mop the floor with my old camaro. Just wondering what you had thats all.

Ya, like I said, not knocking anyones particular car. I was jsut saying stock, they were pretty damn fast (13.3's)
Kevin, I just made a couple runs. 11.6's on my street program (10 degrees timing, low boost). Haven't had a chance to run the race program yet (17 degrees, 4 more lbs boost, C16 only)

Typical to hear the "03 Cobra comment, after all, the cobra was limited production and only stickered for 11k more than my near base Z28. I would hope for 10 stacks extra it had something over a base model.
I also care very little if a motor has the potential to be built to 700hp, hell, mine has that potential too. But there is a big difference between potential and what comes off the showroom floor.
My statement was a general comment about how special editions hit the market. Look around, companies sticker cars up, throw on nifty wheels, add some minor drop of performance improvements, and charge out the *** all the time.

NJ, paid 30 for mine NEW. 13.3's stock. .88G's in the skidpad stock. Thats pretty good to me! I mentioned the Cobra, because YOU were the one that mentioned the limited production vehicles, check your post retard.

I don't know if you are that poorly informed or if you just keep your eyes focused on your narrow little piece of the world. Look down the list of limtied production vehicles released by the big 3 over the last 20+ years. Mostly very little performance, all with hefty mark ups, and none delivering what the initial concept promised.
How about I give you a trivia question that a truck is the correct performance answer and see if you can figure it out. In 1979, what was the fastest production passenger vehicle from the big 3? I'll give you a tip, it was a limited production vehicle, panned by much of the automotive press for being overpriced.

Lightnings dont run 13.3 stock. My best pass bone stock on F1's was 13.8 and thats what Motortrend and Ford says it runs. They can run low 13s on DR or slicks but not on F1s
