i can honestly say if they kill off pontiac, i would/will never..EVER own another gm vehicle, and with the exception of trucks (dodge and nothing but) i've never owned anything besides gms, primarily pontiacs

I think I might hold off for a bit and see what the market does. I would like to buy a decent amount and in about 5 years see where im at.

Anyone think Ford will get as high as toyota is right now, around the $60 mark? If so when?

Ford stock was worth around $35 in the early '90s, that's the highest it's been in the last 50 years. If it ever gets that high again, we'd be living in a much different environment. Too much foreign competition IMO for Ford to ever gain that kind of foothold again.

Some might argue that it's logic (or lack thereof) such as that which got GM in this position in the first place.
I'm going to do just the opposite in a very small attempt to help make sure that we don't lose Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC as well in the future.

Just a follow up to this post. I purchased $2800 in Ford a couple months back and it's value is approx $9500 now though I didn't check today to see what happened. I only wish I had bought 10k at that time :-( could have bought a new Camaro lol

Just took some profits from "F".. found another interesting stock (Sonic Auto) and I'll just say that they are being bought by institutions and the "insiders" just gobbled up
200k shares.

I bought F at $1.55 in Feb and sold at $5.23 the other week. Maybe I was too early on it but I set my goal at $5/share and didn't want to get too greedy.

As the amount of dealerships are thinned out, the remaining *profitable* stores will do very well. The odometers won't stop spinning waiting for the economy to become rosy again. Consumers *need* cars, and nothing in the immediate future will change that.

I also picked up some Penske- http://www.penskeautomotive.com/
