Default New PB at Cecil today!!

I went to Cecil county today and had a good and bad day. I got there around 9:30 and pulled right in the lanes. It was empty so i would have got as many runs as i wanted. I did 4 runs and attempted a 5th.First two runs were nice but the next two where shitty as i missed a gear in both. 5th run the car did not move a foot from the line as the axle snapped. I guess the 275-40-17 et street radials at 20psi and the well prepped track was to much for my mazdas punny independent rear. My best run was:

60'.... 1.785
330... 4.974
1/8... 7.542
mph... 96.33
1000... 9.728
1/4.... 11.564
mph.... 121.95

Not to bad for a bolt on ls1 with 6.0 truck heads and a 03 z06 cam with just a bolt on ls1 tune off hp tuners website.I doubt i will make any more passes with my car this year because i hit my goal on motor and i now dont have any more extra axles. Heres a couple pictures and a video.

Video is a shitty pass when i missed 4th. 1.8 60 FT almost smacking my mufflers on the ground.

Congrats! The car is really moving. You should do a solid rear axle swap and shoot for the 10's!

Thanks.

I am thinking of throwing a 9 inch under the back with a 4 link setup on a 325 radial. I would just kill my t56 then. It wouldnt like dead hooking from a 6500rpm dump. It never ends.

Ouch...talk about some negative camber...lol. You are probably leaving on 5 " of tire width!!! Still very cool build. I seen your car at the Fox run car show last summer and thought it was an awesome setup.

I'm afraid to throw a DR on it because of that reason. People have said slicks are better since they've got a softer sidewall or w/e...but still.

Very nice run though! Sorry I couldnt pick up one of the cams you had for sale a while ago-lost my job like a month before that. lol

Glad it came together, that race weight must really be down.

Raceweight is around 2950.

I think i am going to get slicks and skinnys and borrow a freinds kit for my next track passes. See how deep into the tens i can go on a 150 hit before i get kicked for no rollbar.

Do you guy think a 26 8.5 15 slick will hook better then my 275-40-17 MT DRs. I already have slicks in that size. I just need a set of 15x8 rims.

With the race weight that low with the proper suspension, the DR should still do better but assuming with the rear of that car, the hit will prob be soften. I would say try it out. Also that slick should grow approx 1" so it will be a little taller on the top end.

You get that thing to stop the camber gain and you'll pick up a tenth.

I dunno if it's possible to put a solid axle in the car, but if you could it would probably run a TON better.

The slick will work better then the radial don't even wonder about that.

Looks like slicks it is. Hopefully the wrinkle walls will prevent this from happening again.
