ok so i just left work to go get some lunch. a scrumptious lunch here on base i might add. lol. i come out to my car do the normal glance over to make sure everything is ok, take a quick peek underneath to make sure nothing leaked and everything looks good. jump in fired up and take off. not one problem in the world. well its been raining all day so knowing Optis are prone to water damage im careful around puddles cause i dont feel like frying a brand new ******* MSD. the one and only ******* puddle i run into the gosh damn car shuts offs. i pop it in nuetral and try to fire (**** NUETRAL SAFETY SWITCHES LOL) just wants to turn. so who else is thinking the same thing i am thinking??? OPTI TOOK A ****!!! well i get off to the side and go over the basic ****, ign coil plugged in. all plugs plugged in. batt. and on and on and on so know i check the Fuel Psi Reg. and it spits off some fuel. so im thinking wow ive got good fuel. again IT HAS TO BE THE OPTI. poor things always get blamed. lol well i have someone that stopped to see if everything was ok. and i have him crank it over while i have the #1 plug wire off and grounded and WTF ive got spark so by now im ................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ....



Resort back to old school. run to our local country store and pick up a can of ether. soak the iside of the intake with ether and shes fires right up. bounces off the rev limiter a few times (OUCH!!!!!!!) then shuts off. so before i go and spend a *** load of cash i dont have. on a fuel pump. would i be safe to say it sounds like my fuel pump took a **** on me? im not by the car so i cant really anwser to many questions. and most of everyone knows when your pissed you dont think of the little ****. like turn the key on to see if you can hear the pump turn on or not. so im not sure about that.





I've got a great friend down here (MODULARTURBO) who is gonna hook me up with a trailor to get my car to his house so we can get down to business.



Another question. he has a stock fuel pump out of his evo i think its an 04 or something of that nature. im sure his fuel pump would work in my car sense its just the pump not the entire drop in tank assembly. then ill get the money up and throw something other then stock in. and i thinking about Taping an AN line into my tank with a Inline pump and T that into my fuel lines i have now. as an emergency type of thing. so if this happens again. i can just kick the pump on and it will atleast get me home or somewhere safe. please people pipe in with what you think about all this. thankyou for taking the time to read all this mumbo jumbo and letting me VENT lol thanks!!!

Hey everyone i got summit to quote me 125.95 for a Granatelli 255Lph pump OEM fit (MINOR MINOR MODS to make it work) has anyone got this pump? how is it installing it? performance? any advice on this pump would be great. so far its the cheapest i have found and i know granatelli is a good name.

 

Have you changed the fuel filter recently? That might be a good 1st step.

Did your car run out of gas recently? The pump on my 97 died after I accidentally ran out of gas.

Check the small things first, thats an expensive guess, but it's your money. Re-check spark, re-check fuel, did you suck up water into the filter, should you buy an LS1,etc........................................... .................................................. ............J/K

Ok guys. so just out of spite i tried it again after walking home 3 miles in the rain and walking back to base. due to having to work the overnighter. after a few cranks its starts and wants to run stupid. and after keeping it running for a good 30 seconds by just giving it gas it finally goes back to running fine. could my suspiction of the opti getting wet be the right hting? and it had all afternoon to dry off? or maybe the fuel filter was cloggeed and the **** moved out of the way enough for a study flow of fuel? throw we some idead please
