Default Need some help

I need some help, my mother got into a car accident a few years back and this has been a long and drawn out process. she got hurt really badly but the insurance company is doing everything they can to screw her on her settlement. Ive been looking and looking and can only find mixed results but not exactly what i am looking for. they are trying to say she could not have gotten so hurt because there was not too much damage, but will not accept the fact that it is because it was a solid steel car with solid steel bumpers. there was no crush points or dampeners of any kind on the vehicle and i was just wondering if anyone knew exactly where i can get this in writing, i find plenty of info saying the car has very poor safety and crash rating but nothing to back it up. problem is the car is from 1988 so most of the info says N/A. any help would be greatly appreciated. its a corolla btw

A 1988 corolla does have energy-absorbing bumpers - all passenger cars are required to have them since the 70's, and I doubt you'll ever get anyone to say that this is a "solid steel car with solid steel bumpers":

But anyway, get a lawyer x2. You're not fighting any kind of technical fight, you're fighting other lawyers who have statistics that when a car sustains x amount of damage, then x amount of physical injury results.

I went through this in 2001 when I was rear-ended in my truck - at the time, I was leaning down and to the right to fiddle with the radio, so when I got hit, my torso went between the front seats... But that didn't matter.

Oh, and it took 3+ years to get a settlement check.

Ditto on the lawyer. Well worth the 1/3 (at least that's what it used to be) that they charge. Your mother is at their mercy without one.

you're going to need a lawyer if you want to see any type of money.
i wish you luck because my ma is on the same situation. Couple years back my mom got rear ended by a school bus while driving a crown vic. SHe had to get horrible back surgery and was only given a 11% chance of living. Less than a month after she was let out and on the way back up to the hospital, she was tboned by a drunk college kid. She's on bedrest for life basically. It's been about 3 years and theyre just now getting ready to get a settlement. None of it would have been possible w/o our family lawyer.
