I'd like to add that I have never lost a t-top in my LS1 F-body...of course it doesn't run mid-low 9s like Rick's car does and well, it's also a hardtop.

I got to the track a bit late I guess. I heard the run as I was walking through the stands to watch the action. First thing I saw was the RP truck driving down the track and the announcer mentioned something about sweeping up glass.

I felt bad for Rick.
Nothing was going his way that day.
It is because of that, that he probably forgot to latch the top.
That is what happens when you get distracted.
Thankfully, by the end of the day he was going 152+ mph.

exact same thing happened to me at my FIRST time at the track last wednesday. I was doing a little over 100, and all of a sudden my passengers side T-top was gone. I kept looking in my rear-view to see it crash down and explode on the track, or on my buddy who was racing behind me, but it didnt. When i slowed down, THE T-TOP CAME BACK. somehow or another, it ended up simply "pivoting" up center of the car. I got REAL lucky that day haha
