A shotgun and maybe another pistol would be cool but I dont have the desire to get anything else right now, I'm content. I also dont like the idea of having too many different calibers of ammo........ 7.62, 5.56, .45, 12 gauge, 9mm, too much to stock and keep an eye out for.
I agree 100000%

I love my AR... I would really like to get a Trijcon ACOG 4x32 for it, and shoot at 100 or 200 yards with it. I love the long range stuff so much more than 25 yard pistol stuff... Thats why I would like to get a Rem 700 VTR, put a 10X scope on it and go to a 300 yard range.

As far as ammo goes, its a huge pain, I need 7.62x39, 5.56 [.223 is cheaper, and thats what I use] .40 S&W, and 9mm. If I get my Rem 700, I will need a 7.62x51 [.308] and if I get a 1911 I will need .45 ACP... that is 6 guns and 6 kinds of ammo...

Its getting to be a HUGE pain in the butt... I can only imagine with 25 guns... unless they are all 1 Cal.. lol

My Favorite Revolver.. big-assed "N" Frame which (even empty) can kill a man (as a blunt instrument) without having to go to the gunsmith for fixing.

4" are cool- but the 6" were simply hand-cannons!

Damn, all you guys with your 'multi gun' collections LOL...when I get my first firearm (1911? Browning Hi-Power?) I'm likely stopping at one and that's it, we only have two hands ya know!
Plus the cleaning, cost of ammo and range time and the ID/permit BS we have to go through here in the People's Republic of New Jersey makes it such all such a big hassle/expense.

Pictures are a must...

Some of these have been sold, some are duplicates, I don't have group pictures with some of my older stuff and I don't have pictures of anything I've bought in the last year and a half.

And you guys are right... there is no need for owning this many, it takes up too much space, costs too much money and I have little use for them. I kind of wish I only had 6 or 7 but I can't bring myself to sell most of them.

Marc - you have to first buy one to have one to stop at lol

Tim - if you ever want to sell the SVD, I'm on that like white on rice! I have wanted one for the longest time!

Machine guns are legal in VT as long as you buy the federal tax stamp and go through the application process. I don't personally own any, I can't get past the fact that a real AR/AK is 10x to 20x the price of the semi-auto copy because they have to be pre-86. I may at some point sell off all of my AK's and replace it with one NFA AK, but it seems insane to me to pay $15k for a couple of little machined parts, a spring and a third hole in the reciever.

It's a Romanian PSL, similar concept to the SVD, same caliber but without the $3000 price tag... These are $700 all day long. Just find a local FFL to do the transfer.

You never know Tim, one day you may not want 10 of everything....I bet you could make some cash, keep 2 or 3 of certian things and use that cash for a full auto.

The prices are insane, they make the process here in MA even worse then a full auto M4 is going to be around 16,000+. It's good in a way, keeps them out of the public and leaves them to people like you who are really into firearms more than people who want one for their first gun.

I like the Saiga shotty, I dont know if I want to get a Mossberg tatical (pistol grip and skeleton stock), the Benelli semi shooty or the Sagia. Whatever, I'll see if they have them at the Manchester Firing Lane in NH and rent them.

I may own one some day, I just can't justify it right now. With the price of ammo, it would just be a way of emptying my pocket even faster.

Get a Mossberg 590 or a Remington 870. I have had three Saiga 12's... they are nice if your just going to a look, but it's not 100% reliable and it can be picky on shells. My 590 SP on the other hand always works with any kind of ammo and it costs 1/2 as much.

thanks for the heads up!

is there a way to install good optics like a Trijcon scope on one of those things? I know it has the side mount, but there has got to be someone who makes something. Of would you just buy some kind of rail system that replaces the bolt/carrier cover plate?

I have mounts for my AK's that allow you to mount any optic you want, I can't remember where I found them but they are made in Belarus. Lots of companies make them for the AK's but most are garbage. I imagine someone must make something similar for these rifles but I've never seen one. You can't really just replace the reciever cover with a railed reciver cover because it will never hold zero. It would have to be a mount that uses the standard soviet side mount because it is literally the only piece of steel on the rifle that doesn't flex under recoil.

That is true, the reciever cover is just a piece of sheet metal, like the rest of the gun.. I just dont like the idea of having the only rail be on the forward hand guard, makes the scope too far from me...

I would love to get an SVD or the variant you have and make it a hunting riffle lol Maybe a little silly, but I am sure it will kill ****...

Found them... The PSL/SVD side mounts are on page 2. http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/SearchR...?CategoryID=39

I have a cheap scope mounted on a Romanian SAR-1 using the BP-02 scope mount I'll be using for hunting this year.
