Agreed, as much as I wish it weren't the case, the fact is that carrying in this state (without a proper permit) is just SO freakin' illegal.
I'm movin' to Texas.

Question

Generally speaking, which ammo is cheaper to buy (if there's a difference at all that is), 9mm or .45 ACP?

Nice... Whats with only the what 15 or 20 round clip for the AR? I know in PA you can have collapsable stock, and you can get a 14.5"barrel but it would have to have a flash hider on it so it is 16" with the flash hider.... I just was at the Smith and Wesson retail strore in Springfield MA and i found out MA cant have a collapsable stock, or any flash hider or anything, and only 10 round clips Sometimes i wish i voted republican because the dem's suck when it comes to guns....

Get some 30 round clips for the AR... and get rid of the AK and stick with the american guns.... (i personally hate the AK models but to each his own)

Personally I dont want to own any non american made gun, EXCEPT FOR A GLOCK..... Once i turn 21 i am going out and buying the Glock model 36 and a S&W .357mag on the Scandium J frame, those two are good guns to carry.

What make is your AR i was going to buy the S&W M&P ar-15 but decided to get a FnH Patrol .308 "percision shooting rifle" or sniper rifle w.e one you want to call it. My dad just went and bought well ordered a AR-30 in the .338 Lapua and it is taking 6 months untill it will arrive.

NJ only allows semi-auto riffles to have a maximum of 15 rounds so most riffles sold in NJ have a 10 round magazine.

In the NJ that have a wackey "Evils" rule... meaning that basically that you can not have more than 2 out of the fallowing "evils" on your rifle otherwise its considered an assault weapon and then deemed illegal. I may not be 100% on this, so if I am wrong please correct me:

You can not have more than 2 out of the fallowing:
1. collapsible/folding stock
2. flash hider
3. ability to have more than 15 rounds
4. have a barrel less than 16"
5. have a pistol grip
6, bayonet attachment

So since the riffle can take any magazine, meaning it can take something greater than 15 rounds, even thought all u are allowed is 15 rounds, it has the ability for more, and since it has a pistol grip by design, you can not have anything else...

NJ sucks!

I'm definitely on the Republican side of the room when it comes to gun ownership/gun laws.

I was just reading up on that gun, it's the thinner version of the 30 (both are .45 ACP but the 30 has an extremely wide frame) but it only hold 6 rounds (or it 6+1?) and that's a deal breaker for me, I've got to have at least 10+ in there.
Saw a video of a Glock at the range with a 33 round magazine, it was really cool.

Or you could get the XD .45. it's got 13 rounds of .45 in the palm of your hand. Or get the compact and have 10 or 13 rounds whenever you'd like. And a better natural point of aim

Ooooh, good call! And it's from an American gun manufacturer (Springfield - which is also the name of the town I live in ) which I'd prefer as well.
That XD line seems like some nice pistols indeed.

I love mine. I carry it everyday, and it's pretty damn comfortable. Plus, you can't beat 10 rounds of concealable .45, and 13 more in another pouch. I was actually pretty amazed when I held it with the 10 round mag, I didn't think it'd fit so nicely in my hand. I thought it'd be too small. And reliability is great too. Never had a stove pipe, jam, or failure to feed, even with **** ammo.

I understand the idea of "you can never have enough" but lets be honest here... Unless you spend 24/7 at the range, whats the point of having so many firearms? Unless you are simply a collector because I do not see myself every using that many weapons on a regular basis.

I go to the range now, and maybe put 100 rounds through the pistol and 50 or so through the riffle... between my GF and I that takes about an hour. After that, I'm done... Not sure what I would do with that many guns.

I see myself getting a Remington 700VTR, Colt 1911, and thats it... maybe a .22 Cal pistol for the GF cause ammo will be so damn cheap for it. That would make it 6 or 7 guns... but 25? I would not be able to choose which one to take to the range... lol
if you buy your guns at the right price they never go down in value and as long as you take good care of them they usually go up in value im am 19 years old and own 59 fire arms no hand guns because i can not buy them yet but trust me i will as soon as i can. guns are an investment and security to me not a toy. (a gun that i buy today for 1000 dollars will be worth 10000 when im 50 as long as i keep it in mint condition i dont shoot guns for fun. its either to sight them or shoot somthing if your not a good shot and need to practive just buy a shot gun and be done with it

There are better investments out there in my oppinion...

I don't hunt, yet, and honestly, in East Brunswick, I doubt anyone will come to rob me, and even if they do, with retarded NJ laws, I can't even shoot them unless then have a gun... We don't have the "castle law" like you lucky SOB's in Texas.

I don't want to call a firearm a toy, but really, thats what it is. Ill go tot he range, and go through about 200 or 300 rounds, and have a blast! Otherwise, they just sit there.

Maybe I'll buy a .308 upper for the AR and go hunting lol
