Default Will I have problems...

Looking to take my 2001 Camaro SS and replace the stock headers, cats and Y pipe with http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...id=181&catid=8

or similar...

Exhaust will be the Hooker 16811HKR Muffler

NOW-

I have a PA license .. I travel through NJ and work in NY. Come emissions time in PA, can I get away with this setup or will they flag the hell outta me?

Wanna see what i got in my exhaust?

Well, if you want to get techincal it won't pass. I believe the law reads that you can't move the location of the cats at all from the factory location. Correct me if I am wrong.

Matters by the garage where you get it inspected. I had no problems with my car and i have not cats. The places i went to just looked to see if there was a SES code showing on the OB computer. When you instal Yourafter market exhaust make sure you buy 02 Sims or get the Codes deleted for the rear 02 Sensors

By o2 sims your speaking about the resistance jumpers that fool the computer by making it seem like sensors are there and everything is green right?

I heard about those

So for all of you PA'ers, if you have a similar set up .. either an ORY or Catted Y (non stock) ... I'd be all ears for inspection stations you have used and gotten by with.

What part of PA are you getting inspected/emissioned in? I have multiple "friends" that will pass you.

Yeah .. so far .. I'm looking at a full hooker exhaust set up .. LT headers, ORY and catback (odd considering I wont have any to call it that).

What I need to do is figure out if its better to Jump the o2 sensors or get the computer re-write.... I just dont know where to get the codes or .. who to go to in order for the codesto get re-written

If you plan on keeping your car you may want to go with a stainless setup. Costs more but it will last longer.

Well, going with ceramics for the extra heat draw off - and as far as lasting, I'll be within a year throwing a turbo in. So the headers will hit craiglist with plenty of life left in them anyway ...

You can probably find a tuner to disable your rear O2s. My rear O2s are disabled but I still have them on there with cats. A lot of people think the cats mellow the exhaust a bit, less raspy. Unless you're going for a mostly track oriented car I would keep cats if I was you.

Did you know TSP recently redesigned their cat'd Y pipe and it looks good, nice merge:
