I tried to get them to make one for fourth-gen 'birds right after they started offering the Camaro version. I called in the Spring, and they said call in the Fall. I called in the Fall, and they said call next Spring. I called the third time that Spring & got put off again because they weren't doing custom orders. They told me to call back in a few months. I said screw it & just gave up.

There are many things this list doesn't include, like the shortblock, the trans or the cost of a car itself. I get a kick out of jokers offering me less than what it would cost to buy a pair of heads, a rear, and 4 wheels. Please, everyone save your offers. For anything less that what I'm asking, I'll let it rot.
To any actual prospective buyer, I would consider the following future costs if you want to make this car really nice...
Front end package - Steering right now is a bear and that front end has to be heavy. I don't know how this car 60's like it does. It's pretty amazing really.
Plus, I've been getting a bunch of emails from people telling me that Don from Slowhawk is telling them that the shortblock is "beat", the rings are "shot", etc, etc, etc. I guess that means you need to pull the top end off and trash the shortblock? Wow, I've never heard such silly reactions to the prospect of dragging a motor to the machine shop for a refresh. Have you guys ever gotten your hands dirty? In any case, it sounds like a refresh might be in order.
Also, I'd probably consider spending a few bills for a full cage.

Everyone needs to remember that i dumped the car because I don't like camaro body styles, had nothing to do with the cars performance. I wanted to goto another level and I did not want to do it in this body style. I came across Ken's mustang which was halfway to the point I wanted to be at but in the end was not the right car for me.
I'd buy this car, just to part it out and throw the parts into my Trans Am, but I don't have $7000 laying around because all my cash is invested in 2 Trans Ams and a ton of parts I can't seem to move.
I say buy this car and buy my 98 T/A shell and you have a bad *** looking car

wouldnt take much to convert it to a 6 speed, a million people would trade the tranny setup. Hell I'd trade my 6 speed setup for it. It already has a 6 speed computer

Not to go off topic but I still like the F-Body Camaro more then the Firebirds of that time and even more then the new Camaro. I am thinking of getting back into the scene and I want to get a 2002, low mile (like under 10,000). I like the style and I've owned two already so the sentimental value is there.
The new ones just ride better, have a better motor that is more efficent and have all of the gizmos. If I get another Camaro I hope to keep it forever and just turn it into one of those cars I can say in 20 years "I've have this car since I was 28 and I'm about 50 now".
We'll see, after I come back from the wedding my fiance told me I should buy another car or motorcycle, she feels bad I dont have my toys anymore.
I'd like a 2002 red SS, low miles, 427, turbo setup..... I can do it, just a matter of biting the bullet and getting it done.
