Default Ls1 Rx7 Complete W/ help from 02NavyBlueZ

My conversion to the darkside is complete!!! Yesterday we started my car for the first time. Besides a few leaks and me forgetting to put a plug wire on, the car fired up right away. I will get some more pics very soon, for now i just have a video of the start up.

The reason i created this thread was so that locals could see what a great job Scott(02NavyBlueZ) did on the wiring. He literally rewired my entire car using a painless performance fuse panel. He worked on the car for 5 days to get everything completed at a fraction of the cost of if i took it to a shop. For anyone that is in need of wiring or has electrical issues, he is the man to get in touch with. He took a bunch of pics that i am hoping he will post in this thread so everyone can see.

Austin,

Welcome to the darkside!!! Going from the 13B to the LS1 you will now experience a whole new aspect of power called TORQUE lol. Im sure the car is going to be a blast to drive around, now hurry up and get that exhaust done so you can take me for a ride! Thanks for the kind words, the car turned out extremely well and it's definitely one of the cleanest swaps i've seen to date. CONGRATS!
Here are some shots of the engine bay wiring, painless panel, pcm & gauge cluster ENJOY!!

PCM Looks right @ home there.

Sweet LED Turn Signals!

Austin can chime in but I would guess the weight will probably be around 2500lb or so. Stock LS1 for now but I'm sure he will be doing a few upgrades in the future

With a nice tune & traction lol this car should be capable of mid 11's no problem.

Nice. LSx+RX7=. A set of corvette fuel rail covers would look good. Check out norotors.com if you haven't already.

Looks bad ***.

Austin - I told you Scott is the man. Not going to get a better job done anywhere when it comes to wiring.

Sell him the LS6 heads/cam & that old TNT Nitrous kit and that would make his car an extremely reliable low 10 second car thats for sure! With some drivetrain upgrades that is...

You were right, thanks for getting me in contact with him.

Thanks for the comments guys. I put about 30 miles on the car this weekend just driving around Bel Air with it. There are a few small things that i need to tie up drivability wise. And i definently need to get the exhaust finished. I was so excited friday night that the noise didnt even bother me. But after driving the car a little, its getting old really fast. The car will probably sit most of the week while i take care of some of the small stuff and should hopefully be road worthy with a full interior by the end of May...

Anyone know of a scale that i can use to weigh the car? I guess i could always stop at a truck stop on the side of the highway and weigh it. The car should be between 2500-2600 lbs though...

Go to a truck stop. Unless you did alot of weight reduction during the swap it will not be that light. 2700-2850 is about what most lsx rx7's weigh.

Its a Tick Stage 2 rebuilt trans, Aluminum drive shaft and then a stock FD rear end. I plan to do a Cobra IRS this winter along with a major overhaul of the rest of the suspension.

I think this car will come in lighter than that since it doesnt have any heat or A/C components including the core under the dash. The Abs system has been removed along with all the wiring. Wipers with motor are gone and the car was converted to manual steering also. Pretty much anything that wasnt needed was taken out. I think i saved about 50 lbs just in all the wiring that was taken out, lol.

My last FD weighed 2660 on stock twins and still had everything listed above. It was also a rotary though, so this car might be closer to that number.

Scott is the man, I actually still owe him some cash for wiring my nitrous kit up. Spent as much time as needed and took no shortcuts even after 12 hrs in a cold *** garage.

Sick car for sure, should have dropped a cam in there while it was out of the car.
