Once a fat guy, Now getting Skinny!!!
I have battled weight since I was 33 after the Bike Accident
I went from 200lb to 404lb in 12yrs..
Safe to say I was heading for a catostrophic outcome...
My buddy Corey (YOUNG GUY) motivated me by going to the gym with me
We started this process Jan 3, 2010..
I weighed 404LBS
I lift weight 3 times a week
I walk for 30 minutes 4 times a week on the treadmill
I eat very good 6 times a week and whatever I want 1 day a week
I weighed myself today
I weigh 331LBS (I HAVE LOST 73LBS IN 6 MONTHS)
Starting to increase the treadmill starting tomorrow
40 minutes 4 times a week now
Take a look at the before and after pic
I really think you will see the results

Awesome job, have tried a no carb/low carb diet? I know when I stop eating carbs, I am not as hungry, dont need any snacks after dinner, barely eat lunch. Try it out if you havent.

THe single best way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat a balanced diet, 4-6 meals a day, count calories and exercise. Personally Ive done weight watchers for the last year and lost over 20lbs. Granted I didnt start at such a high weight as the OP, but losing weight is easy, keeping it off is the hard part, and fad diets make it easier to gain it back....
Congrats on the weight loss and keep it up!

Excellent progress, that's alot to lose, and it's alot of work, ask me how I know.
I got on a scale sometime bewteen thanksgiving and chirstmas last year and saw 297
Started right after chirstmas really trying to watch what I'm eating, and started going to the gym.. I've laxed with the gym since summer time got here, but I'm now at 257 to 263, depending on the day.
My goal is 225, I'm roughly 1/2 way there. Hopefully, once I have my gaage finished off I'll have the time to start with the gym again. The initial gym helped alot to get the first 20 off, I'm hoping since I've taken a good break from it I can chop another 20 again, that would be a good step to where I am aiming for.
Just keep up the work... you'll get to where you want to be... just takes time.

The key for these big guys is EXERCISE, if you were like me, work (computer work @ a desk all day) then coach potato until bed, that doesn't get it. All we have to do is exercise regularly, I did treadmill (brisk walk) 30mins a day 7 days a week when I started, but the more I learned I cut back to 5 days. But moving around is the key, plus watching hot woman at the gym isn't bad either...

Great job, I lost about 50 myself, I know it takes some hard work. I had to completely overhaul my diet. More whole grains, fruit and vegetables, and switched to diet drinks from regular (that's a big one). And of course exercise is crucial. I get at least 1/2 an hour of cardio every day, mostly hiking or biking.
When you want to lose weight, it's important to remember that a diet can't just be a temporary thing, but a permanent change in how and what you eat. That's why fad diets don't work in the long term. You need to find something that you can stick with.

Congrats Joel... biggest difference I see is you're now smiling
Last year I hit 229 and felt like crap trying to chase my 2.5 y/o son... after six months, I was down to 190. After a year, I'm still at 195 and feel like I did 10 years ago.
I'm sure your joints are feeling better Joel. Keep it up and you'll fit comfortably in a Z06.

It's not often that someone posts up on a car forum about losing...ha.Remember that every extra 100lbs. costs you a tenth in the the 1320.
Awesome job and attitude man.Keep up the fight and don't get discouraged when the weight lose slows as you get closer to a manageable body mass index. Good luck and congrats.
